In the 2024 edition of “10 Days of Art,” guests can admire, engage, and create art! To participate in the festivities, guests can do the “Art Walk by Ayala Land” which features public art installations, exhibits, performances, and activations in One Ayala, Ayala Malls (Glorietta and Greenbelt), Ayala Museum, Ayala Triangle Gardens, Circuit Makati, The Samsung Performing Arts Theater and various pedestrian underpasses and walkways all over Makati.
There will be maps for those who would like to do the “Art Walk by Ayala Land” on their own, as well as guided tours done in partnership with the Makati LGU. But in case you want to plan your adventure, here’s what to expect.
From One Ayala all the way to Circuit Makati, visitors can discover a trail of public artworks — showcasing new art pieces that have been commissioned particularly for the 10 Days of Art, as well as art pieces that have been part of the urban landscape for years.
The journey begins at One Ayala, where you can see murals from the project “Off The Wall Manila – Paris Connexions” and The Course of The Sun, an art installation suspended from the ceiling of the terminal concourse. Then, take a short stroll to the malls, starting at Japan Town, Glorietta, where you will find a digital photo exhibit by Trish Shishikura.
Passionate about photography? Visit Greenbelt 5 and the nearby Legazpi Underpass, where guests can get lost in a world of stunning photo and digital photo exhibitions created by FotomotoPH, a Manila-based organization composed of photographers, curators, and writers.
After that, take a short detour to Ayala Museum, and witness the exhibit by Emmanuel Garibay – an interpretation of the poem I Teach My Child by Gemino Abad.
Then, venture outdoors to discover more art across Ayala Avenue! Located at the Tower One Fountain area is A Warm Orange-Colored Liquid, an installation by trans-disciplinary visual artist Derek Tumala. It is deemed his most significant and ambitious work to date.
Meanwhile, on the Green Wall of Ayala Triangle Garden Tower 2, guests can view Prismatic Embrace, a can’t-be-missed video projection created by motion graphics artist and multimedia engineer Isaiah Cacnio in collaboration with digital artists AJ Dimarucot and Carlos.
Ready for the next step? Stop by the Washington Sycip Park and take time to appreciate four sculptures by Impy Pilapil entitled Faith, Entry, Wish Stone, and The Mangrove-Nature’s Embrace. Further down Ayala Avenue, you can also check out !Exclaim at Ayala North Exchange.
For souls that yearn for brushstrokes and sculptures, the Samsung Performing Arts Theater houses an exhibit by Art House. Available for viewing are works of prominent and new kids on the block, and local and international artists.
Upon arrival at the driveway of Ayala Malls Circuit and the Samsung Performing Arts Theater, guests are welcomed with Leeroy New’s Elemento – an installation that redefines sustainability through art with towering pieces crafted from recycled materials.
Guests can also participate in the community mural painting activity, where they can paint the walls and walkways of Circuit Makati. Following the theme “A Celebration Of The Various Disciplines Of The Arts,” this will be led by local artists like Nini Andrada Sacro, Anina Rubio, and Trip63.
