8 Heartbreaking OPM Songs For Your Senti Moments

Nov 2, 2019   •   Bianca Katipunan

There are days when we just can’t help but listen to sad songs, each lyric of the song we’re listening to makes us reminisce of that point in our lives when we got hurt. OPM songs, in particular, have some of the most heartbreaking lyrics. Here are some of the most senti songs about heartbreak, for when you need an emotional release.

“Paki Sabi Na Lang” by Aiza Seguerra

“Paki sabi na lang na mahal ko siya, di na baleng may mahal siyang iba”

The classic song about loving a friend in secret, “Paki Sabi Na Lang” is the go-to karaoke song for those stuck in the friendzone.

“Malaya” by Moira Dela Torre

“Mangangarap hanggang sa pagbalik, mangangarap pa rin kahit masakit”

This famous song from the movie Camp Sawi has been playing on the radio since its release. It’s about letting go of all the feelings you have for someone because waiting for them already hurts too much. The song is part of everyone’s hugot playlist because of its deep and painful lyrics.

“Sino Nga Ba Siya” by Sarah Geronimo

“May pagkukulang ba ako’t nagagawang saktan ang puso ko”

The ultimate hugot song for those people na iniwan sa ere, this song talks about the painful feeling of being left for another yet still hoping to be loved again (awwwwww).

“Migraine” by Moonstar88

“Oo nga pala hindi nga pala tayo”

For those still waiting for the day their crush finally loves them back, this song is for you! Don’t be fooled by the upbeat sound, this song gets real about the confusion of label-less relationships. It’s complicated.

“Someday” by Nina

“Cause, someday someone’s gonna love me the way I wanted you to need me”

Another karaoke classic, “Someday” is about moving on from a bad breakup. The song’s lyrics are painfully real, but are also quite hopeful. If you’re going through a tough breakup, remember: lilipas din ‘to.

“Di Na Kita Mahal” by Silent Sanctuary

“Sumpaang magtatagal, mga pangarap agging abo”

If you still dwell on all the promises you and ex said to each other, you’ve got to listen to this. “Di Na Kita Mahal” is about sacrificing one’s feelings because their partner wants to let go.

“Kung Ako Na Lang Sana” by Bituin Escalante

“Kung ako na lang sana ang yong minahal di ka na muling mag-iisa”

Another song about being stuck in the friendzone, “Kung Ako Nalang Sana” talks about loving someone from afar and hoping that one day that person will choose to love them back. The song is perfect for those “ako nalang” moments with crushie.

“Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako” by KZ Tandingan

“Ang nais ko ay maranasan ang umibig at masuklian din ng pag-ibig”

A song about choosing between two lovers, “Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako” is for those who have found themselves caught in a similar dilemma. After all, how can you follow your heart if it wants two things at the same time?
