Not a lot of people have heard of the term “ASMR” (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) but everyone has felt the phenomenon for sure. To put it simply, it’s the tingle or calmness or drowsiness you feel when you feel or hear something you like — while watching someone cook in silence while getting a haircut, or while someone whispers in your ear.
Watching or listening to videos or podcasts that stimulate ASMR triggers has its benefits; it helps you fall asleep, calms you down during stressful days, and generally fills you with a sense of peace.
If you’re one of those who are into watching ASMR videos or are just curious about them, then check out these ones we’ve listed below!
Oh, and you better put on your earphones for this.
Peaceful Cuisine’s 2-in-1 videos provide delicious, mostly vegan cooking tutorials while making our ears tingle with the sounds of pots and pans, ingredients being poured in bowls, and items being chopped. The chef makes two different versions per recipe all the time — one with music and one without — and you can guess which version has the higher views.
Hearing our favorite actors whisper in our ears is a dream we never knew we had. Thanks to W Magazine, these unorthodox interviews are also as deeply satisfying to watch as they are to listen to.
Ever imagined an ASMR advertisement? Neither did we. IKEA proves that it’s okay to launch a shockingly 25-minute long ad as long as it’s full of whispers, soft thuds, and other relaxing sounds that send tingles down our spine.
There are plenty of YouTube accounts dedicated to providing satisfying ASMR experiences, and one of them is ASMRSurge. You can find tons of other ASMR videos on their channel, like soap carving, chalkboard drawing, and rolling on different surfaces.
Gibi has a lot of subscribers on her YouTube channel for her various unique styles of ASMR videos like this one above where she roleplays as a doctor at a sleep clinic and uses different items and instruments to tingle our earbuds and help us fall asleep at night.
ARMY or not, if this multi-talented KPOP group gorging down Korean Fried Chicken won’t make you hungry, then you’re probably listening to this video at a really low volume.
Slime videos are in itself already satisfying. Add a bit of crunch, and it’s almost heaven to the ears. Kind of reminds you of popping bubble wrap, doesn’t it?
Here’s a video of someone whispering in your ears the sexiest language in the world. You’re welcome.
