#EXplOrationinMnl: Reasons Why We Can’t Get Over the Concert

Aug 29, 2019   •   Bianca Katipunan

I can’t believe that just happened!” Was all EXO-Ls can say after EXO had a massive two-day concert in Manila last August 23 and 24 for their EXO Planet 5: EXplOration tour in Manila. Their performances, the stage design, and the beautiful rainbow ocean definitely makes the spectacle one to remember! Since we are still high from it all (or suffering from post-concert depression), here are some of the highlights we’d like to relive from the two-day concert:

EXtra-Ls

Someone’s ready to get married with her bias! 😅

During the second day of the concert, a fan was ready to get married to her bias, complete with a wedding gown! Other fans were cheering as this EXTRA-L entered the arena holding her lightstick as a bouquet. Another dressed up as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, we wonder which among the members is her beast?

The moment Chen opened the concert with “I can’t believe” his famous line from Tempo, the whole arena stood up. EXO proved that they indeed do eat CDs for breakfast as they wowed the audience with their amazing vocals.

The Beautiful Stage Design

The stage was close enough for the fans to see EXO up close, but one thing that added to the spectacle was the lights that were seemingly floating above the group. Another thing that added to the excitement of the fans was the fireworks during EXO’s Power performance. Kudos to PULP Live World for making all of this possible!

During K-Pop concerts, fans usually do fan chants, but during EXplOration, the fans didn’t just do the fan chants—they sang the whole song!

Crazy Antics

During the group’s Ment, Chanyeol started to recreate Baekhyun’s solo stage for UN Village. After he showed the fans his moves, he also made the other members dance along to the song. All we can say is it got the arena rolling with laughter.

Solo Stages

The concert wasn’t complete without all of the member’s individual stages. Baekhyun sang “UN Village” from his debut album, Chen sang “Lights Out” from Universe, the groups’ 2017 winter album, EXO-SC got the crowd on their feet when they sang “What a Life” and “Closer to You”.  Leader Suho shocked everyone with his “Been Through” stage. Lastly, Kai set the arena on fire with his solo stage Confession.

Lightstick Synchronization

The arena was filled with different colors that were based on the different stages of the show. From red to blue, to even pink! The highlight of the lightstick synchronization was when it turned into the color of the Philippine flag.

Walang Uuwi!

Sehun: *whispers* I’m only saying this to the translator in secret; They [fans] told us not to go home earlier (in Filipino), right? How does it go again?
Translator: Walang uuwi [No one’s going home]~

🐥: Walang?
👩🏻: uuwi~

— 캐리~♡❄️ (@xunhuas) August 25, 2019

As the group was saying their goodbyes, the arena was filled with screams of “walang uuwi” from fans, which prompted the youngest member Sehun to ask the translator what “walang uuwi” means. When the translator answered his question, Sehun started to scream Walang uuwi while pointing to the fans!
