Except that it’s not a good morning for JaDine fans everywhere.
Last night, James Reid and Nadine Lustre confirmed that they have, in fact, officially split. In a joint statement issued via Tonight with Boy Abunda, it reasoned that they broke up “to focus on ourselves” and “our personal growth.” This statement comes a few weeks after rumors of the couple going their separate ways circulated online.
JaDine fans are in various stages of unbelief and grief. This was the couple who wormed into everyone’s hearts when they starred in Diary ng Panget back in 2014 and became a reel-to-real couple in 2016. This was the couple who taught all the other couples out there how to take aesthetic photos and dress up properly for Halloween parties. It’s only weeks until they celebrate their supposed fourth year together (February 11) but we have to accept that some things just aren’t meant to be.

This was done when they were still together but Nadine’s sincerity feels like maybe they were on the rocks even back then. But she still was convinced that even if they break up, James will always have a place in her heart.

What most people love about James and Nadine’s relationship is that they started out as true friends before gradually seeing each other in a romantic light. It’s like watching your barkada slowly fall in love when they swore they’ll never have feelings for each other. AND NOW WE’RE JUST SAD POTATOES.
