Apple has really come a long way since the first iPhone was released in 2007. Though it wasn’t the first smartphone, it definitely set the bar in the mobile industry because back then, we didn’t really have something as revolutionary. The company had just released the latest iOS update and before we finally give in to the constant update notifications, let’s turn back time and recall what the old iPhone looked like in its first years:

Launched in 2005, YouTube has got to be one of the most successful websites/applications that we have today. YouTube gave birth to millions of new creators who share their lives online and to be honest, you can pretty much learn or listen to anything here. It gave a different form of entertainment with its free videos, and it is hilarious how its old app logo looked like television. Who knew that this video-sharing website had the potential to replace or equate to television today?
Newsstand

It’s that app that allowed you to browse different newspaper and magazine subscriptions as if you’re stopping at an actual newsstand on your way to work. Though News has now become a widget in iOS 14 and Apple Books have become a preinstalled app, having your subscriptions organized on shelves is still as fun!
Flashlight

Apple has conveniently set a flashlight widget now. But back then, we had to manually install a flashlight app or open our camera, switch to video, and turn on the flash to have some light in the dark.

If you remember old Instagram’s logo, filters, and how the photos looked like they’re displayed at a gallery, you’ve probably been on the app for too long. Remember when we can share whatever we wanted without people policing your feed? Or when the number of likes was still hidden? Before the stories and cute AR filters, Instagram was a fun app for sharing photos with tacky (but we all loved them) filters.

It seems like Apple back then had a knack for making their apps look like the actual thing they’re representing. The notes app did look like a yellow pad that feels like you can rip it any time. Now, you can insert tables on your notes and even make checklists!

iPod

Before the “Music” app, iOS 4 had the “iPod” app for listening to music. It’s a quirky way of adding one of Apple’s famous products into a smartphone. Well, it’s the purpose of it anyway, saying that everything that you might need is already on this phone. No additional gadgets needed.
Tap Tap Revenge
Ah, the old phone staple. Several addicting games have been popularized over the past years like Flappy Bird and the tita favorite Candy Crush, but nothing beats the feeling of getting a perfect streak on Tap Tap Revenge! Which songs did you try to perfect on this app?
