American Murder: The Family Next Door

In case you haven’t seen it yet, American Murder: The Family Next Door may be one of the most disturbing documentaries you’ll ever see. Watch it again, and you might notice someone in the background, which can be more chilling. The alleged ghost was seen right in the 0:33 mark above, where you were probably focused on listening to their conversations.  Real-life body camera footage was used in the documentary so that’s something that couldn’t be fake, right?

But is it real?

The ghost theory was easily debunked when viewers realized that the girl was probably the daughter of Nickole, the friend who came to check up on Shannan.

We’ve rounded up some other “ghosts” that have been caught on camera, and the “evidence” is quite chilling. Are they real? You be the judge.

Three Men and a Baby

Three Men and a Baby is a 1987 comedy film about a group of carefree friends who suddenly had to take care of a baby who appeared on their doorstep. It’s also one of the most popular movies that caught a “ghost” on cam, where a boy appears in the background in one of the scenes. The producers of the movie reiterated that it was just a cardboard cutout of Ted Danson that got misplaced by a decorator. However, the scenes leading to the appearance didn’t have the cutout. Could this have been a real ghost caught on cam?

EXO’s Growl

Even the music industry has its fair share of “ghost” appearances too. An example is K-Pop group EXO’s music video for Growl, where a man is seen standing in the background during one of the dance breaks. Management said that it’s just a staff member watching the filming but why would he be there when all the cameras are rolling?

Wizard of Oz

The classic 1939 film of Wizard of Oz has an urban legend that has been going around for years. One of the Munchkins allegedly hung himself during the filming of the movie and can be seen in the scene above. Rumors say it’s due to the management’s mistreatment but others dismissed it saying it was just a crane (bird) moving in the background. You can read more about the case here.

Mokdong Ghost

In 2012, this scary AF dashcam video went viral in South Korea. The 34-second clip showed a car driving by Mokdong Street. Everything was normal until a strange object, resembling a woman’s hair, appeared in front of the camera. The driver tried using the wipers to get rid of the object but it was to no avail. They say they stopped and found a ghost woman hanging upside down, staring at the driver. Coincidentally, the footage was recorded on a Friday the 13^th.

2AM Jo Kwon

We guess even ghosts can’t get enough of K-pop idols that they decide to join them even in photos. Seen in this photo is 2AM’s Jo Kwon, but amp up the brightness and zoom in and you might see a woman’s angry face on his shoulders.

Going Seventeen

Remember when Seventeen was filming Going Seventeen then Hoshi, Wonwoo and The8 saw a female ghost. They thought it was just their female staff pretending but then when they asked the staffs, they said they didn’t hire any females to pretend to be a ghost only males? pic.twitter.com/jJSFLeoVX9

In an episode of Going Seventeen, K-pop group Seventeen’s reality show, the group went to visit a haunted house for a challenge. In the episode, three members saw the woman in the box, with one member even bowing to her. Even the staff was baffled by this, as they confirmed they didn’t hire any female actors for the challenge. Hoshi, you were so brave! Also, it turns out that the place really is haunted.

The Six Million Dollar Man

This one isn’t a ghost caught on cam, but an actual dead man found during the filming of the 1973 series, The Six Million Dollar Man. While filming one of the episodes in 1976, a prop man moved what he thought was a mannequin hanging from a gallows. Turns out it’s the mummified corpse of Elmer McCurdy, a robber who died in a shoot-out with the police in 1911. His remains were initially brought around in a carnival, and it was only in 1976 that the mummified corpse was rediscovered.
