The tita-shamer-dough is literally the eye-mouth-eye emojis horrifyingly come to life. This combination of emojis is often used to depict being a witness to an unbelievable, hilarious, weird, or cringey happening and expressing surprise, disgust, or confusion. And those emotions are exactly what so many of us felt after watching the ad.
Ah, the good ol’ days of the internet. This might be one of the first things that popped up into your mind when you saw that video (well, after being amazed or horrified at the absurdity of it all). The star of their own web series, Annoying Orange is an anthropomorphic orange fruit who often annoys other fruits, vegetables, and other objects. Like the tita-shamer-dough, Annoying Orange has two human-like eyes and a mouth that runs off with insults, and similarly, the Orange often meets an unfortunate end.
Straight out of our childhood (and maybe even adulthood) nightmares, the Pale Man is the secondary antagonist in Pan’s Labyrinth. He usually doesn’t have eyes, so he doesn’t move a lot, except for when he detects children. In which case he puts on his eyes on his hands and starts hunting. The fact that he’s so pale he looks like a lump of dough shaped like a human doesn’t help the comparison with tita-shamer-dough.
Okay, admittedly, this one isn’t that much of a lookalike, but basically, the Cheshire Cat has big eyes and a big smile, and it reminded us too much of this tita-shamer-dough. Urgh.
There’s just something a little weird about the Cars movie, isn’t there? Those big eyes and big mouth on something that shouldn’t have those . . . Gives us the creeps. Maybe anthropomorphism just really isn’t our thing.
Remember the mess that was the Cats live-action adaptation? We understand if you don’t. Everyone’s erased it from their minds (even the actors). But after watching Julie’s Bakeshop’s ad, we can’t help but be reminded of the bizarre CGI work in this movie. It’s unreal how weird they made the actors look in the first release. We still get goosebumps.
The 2007 live action; not the animated movie! Mrs. Potts is nearly unrecognizable in the live action version of this classic fairytale. Her purple and white color combination was replaced with fancy floral gold embellishments. They did away with her signature spout-nose and simply slapped on her face on one side. And honestly, those moving eyes and lips were just leaning more towards the eerie side.
Yes, you. And us and him and her and them and everyone. With the use of that one particular filter on Snapchat or Instagram, you could look just like this tita-shaming-dough Tita Julie is kneading to perfection.
Remember: don’t be a tita shamer, okay? Accept the tita within you!
