Singer-actress Nadine Lustre opened up about her personal life, especially her move to Siargao, during a session with dermatologist Aivee Teo. The doctor posted their heart-to-heart session and her Youtube channel, and we’ve picked up a lot of new perspectives on life from the actress.
Talking about her Siargao move, Nadine said the move was an easy decision to make. According to the actress, she has a lot of friends who already live there, which made the move much easier. But she also attributed her decision to the fact that she has always wanted to live near nature, of which Siargao has plenty.
Nadine also said the move was pretty spontaneous. “Just wishful thinking na, okay like, manifesting, you know, like in two years or in one year, I wanna be living by the beach. . . . Funny enough, after two months, it happened.”
The actress said that she feels freer when she’s on the island compared to when she’s in the metro. “Here in Manila, for some reason, I was making my life so complicated and so difficult,” she shared. “But when I moved there I realized that life isn’t so difficult after all.”
Nadine has previously opened up about her struggles in her personal life, especially in her mental health. But now she presented a different perspective that she said helps her whenever she loses her way. “You have to go through a phase where it’s uncomfortable, where it’s all like question marks,” she began. “But then eventually when you find it you’re going to lose your way again just because you’re ready to go on to the next level.
For Nadine, the bad things are a part of life as much as the good things are, because life is ever-changing. She admitted she took time in realizing this and she found it difficult to accept the bad things before, but she eventually changed her perspective. “It’s hard to accept things the way they are and understand that there are things that are out of your control and at the end of the day, all you have to do is let it be.”
“Every time I would get stressed, I tell myself na, ‘No, you know what, this is just for now. Something good is gonna come out of this, or a lesson is gonna come out of this,’” the actress added. “That’s what we’re meant to do, change. Grow. Level up. Shed.”
The singer-actress also shared two new tattoos she got over the pandemic. Both are on her inner ankles, and one says “It is what it is,” which she said serves as “a reminder for me to just accept bad things happen. . . . It’s something to remind me na okay lang yan. That’s life.” Doc Aivee even joked that she should get one, because she thinks similarly and it’s a good reminder.
Nadine shared that she actually got these tattoos when she worked on her album Wait For Me, which she recorded with a very close friend who is like her “brother for life.” While working on the album, they came to a lot of realizations together, and for Nadine and her friend, the tattoo “That’s it” is a reminder of what they learned during that trip together.
Nadine ended with a simple reminder for herself and everyone watching: “Just be kind. Be a good human being. Just do everything with love. That’s it.”
She recently finished filming for her next movie Greed. According to the actress, it’s a suspense-thriller film written and directed by Yam Laranas.
“It’s really exciting. It’s a really nice material,” the actress teased. “I’m super excited, because this is a different Nadine. This is a different Nadine as the actress.” Nadine said the film might be coming out in February, so mark your calendars!
