Celebrate Pride Month 2022 in These Colorful Love-Filled Events

As quarantine restrictions become more relaxed this 2022, Filipinos are able to once again celebrate Pride Month together in person. Several LGBTQ+ groups have organized various activities across the country to celebrate Pride. See which ones you can attend below:

 

2022 Metro Manila Pride March and Festival


When: June 25, 2022, 10 AM onwards (with various activities scheduled throughout the month)
Where: Pasay City
Organizers: Metro Manila Pride
What to expect:

  • Atin Ang Kulayaan Pride March (4PM)
  • Atin Ang Kulayaan Pride Evening Program (6 PM to 12 MN)
  • Atin Ang Kulayaan Queer Arts Exhibit, Proud Street Fair, Eduk Hangouts (10 AM onwards)

 

Alab for Love Pride PH Festival


When: June 25, 2022, 10 AM to 12 MN
Where: Quezon City Memorial Circle
Organizers: Pride PH in partnership with the Quezon City local government
What to expect:

  • Pride Expo
  • Pride March
  • Pride Night

 

Baguio Pride 2022

When: June 25, 2022, 3 PM
Where: Baguio — from Sunshine Park to Governor Pack Road to Session Road to Malcolm Square
Organizers: Northern Luzon Pride
What to expect:

  • Pride 101
  • Storytelling with Mx Kiki Krunch
  • Queer Love Stories
  • Queer Speed Dating

Southern Tagalog Pride March 2022


When: June 28, 2022 (with various activities scheduled throughout the month)
Where: to be confirmed
Organizers: Southern Tagalog Pride, an alliance of LGBTQ+ and ally organizations and individuals in Calabarzon or Mimaropa
What to expect:

  • Laguna pride protest
  • SOGIE 101
  • UPLB Queer Spaces
  • Kasalang Bayan by UPLB Babaylan
  • donation drives

 

Lumalaban, Lumiliwanag, Lumiliyab


When: various activities scheduled throughout the month
Where: to be confirmed
Organizers: UP Babaylan, the oldest LGBTQI student organization in the country and in Asia, based in UP Diliman
What to expect:

  • the opening of a rainbow-painted crosswalk at UP Diliman
  • Pride Letters — a letter campaign to combat queer isolation
  • Art for a Cause — a commission-based fundraising initiative in partnership with volunteer queer artists
  • a film screening of Rhadem Musawah’s Budjang

 

HAPI’s Overcoming 2022

When: June 4 to 30, 2022
Where: Dumaguete, online
Organizers: Humanist Alliance Philippines, International (HAPI)
What to expect:

  • series of Nationwide Talks (online)
  • Community Kitchen
  • Art Exhibit Opening and Pride Walk
  • Holy Union Ceremony

 

Pelikulaya: International LGBTQIA+ Film Festival

When: June 10 to 26, 2022
Where: Davao, Ilo-ilo, Negros
Organizers: Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP)
What to expect:

  • screenings of local and international films highlighting the narratives of members of the LGBTQIA+ community
  • finalists of the short film competition
  • panel discussions
  • gala nights

 

National Museum of the Philippines’ Pride Month activities

When: June 13 to 22, 2022
Where: National Museum of Fine Arts, online
Organizers: National Museum of the Philippines
What to expect:

  • Bahaghari: Understanding SOGIESC and the Protection in Philippine Law (online webinar)
  • Pride Tour at the Museum
  • a film screening of Elwood Perez’s Esoterika: Maynila
