Want to Feel Old? This ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ Star is Now a Politician

These days, time is flying by so fast that it’s hard to gauge just how much exactly has passed. But there are occasional moments that just give you that sudden wake up call that years have indeed flown by, as if saying, hey, you’re getting old! Time *has* gone by!. You could just find yourself reuniting with relatives and seeing how much your nieces and nephews have grown taller. Or maybe your friends have been sending you wedding invites or sharing news of pregnancies. It could also be an old song turning ten years old, or maybe a film or show celebrating its twentieth anniversary. Or it could be something like seeing a former child actor shifting careers and turning into an actual politician, as is the case of Nash Aguas.

Nash Aguas used to be that goofy kid we see on comedy gag show Goin’ Bulilit. Now, he is Hon. Aeign Zackrey Nash V. Aguas, a politician serving as councilor for Cavite City.

The twenty-three-year-old ran under the slate of elected Cavite City mayor Denver Chua.

The actor-turned-politician shared photos on his Instagram account of his first official day in office. One was him sitting in front of his desk, while another was him standing in front of the symbol of Cavite City. There was also a group photo with his colleagues on Instagram stories.

Nash Aguas entered the spotlight at the age of five, debuting on variety show MTB then the talent search show Star Circle Quest. He became a regular cast member in comedy sketch Goin’ Bulilit, spending six years as part of the show. He continued to star in several other films and shows, including Ang Probinsyano and the Shake, Rattle & Roll series. His latest project was TV drama Huwag Kang Mangamba and a reappearance in Ang Probinsyano as the young Cardo Dalisay.
