If we were to believe Internet sleuths, it looks like Alex Gonzaga and Dina Bonnevie have beef with each other over an incident from years ago. The content creator-slash-actress is under scrutiny yet again after sharing how a certain older actress scolded her on set. Coincidentally, Bonnevie told a similar story of her telling off an entitled young actress for being a diva. Do the puzzle pieces fit? Are they talking about each other? Here’s what we know.
In her podcast Ano na Catherine?, Alex Gonzaga recalled a traumatizing moment when one “artistang matanda” yelled at her “from head to foot” during a project they were working on together.
“So there was a time, when I was in my 20s, I was so traumatized. Pinagsisigawan ako ng isang artistang matanda. Pinagsisigawan niya talaga ako from head to foot, everything, kasi akala niya galing ako sa bahay. Late lang ako. hindi niya alam na galing ako sa work kasi siguro hindi sinabi sa kanya,” said Gonzaga in her podcast episode “When You Are Always the Bad Guy”.
She went on to say that this actress is still “painting her as the bad guy” even after all these years.
“‘Di ba may mga ganoon? May mga tao na who did you wrong, or who traumatized you, and then you don’t even talk about it. Parang you would just let it be. And then ‘pag sila pa ang nag-kuwento, sila pa yung mabait. Ikaw pa yung masama na parang ibang-iba na yung kwento,” the 34-year-old continued.
Gonzaga said that she didn’t do anything about it because she knew the truth: “So naisip ko, anong kailangan kong gawin kapag ganoon? And then ang daming umagree.. Wala. Kasi alam ko naman yung katotohanan eh.”

After her podcast revelation (released last November 30), Pinoys tried to put a few puzzle pieces together. Even though Gonzaga did not name the senior actress in her story, curious netizens already had a person in mind. In a 2018 interview, veteran award-winning actress Dina Bonnevie recalls scolding a young actress who was always late to the set, a story that eerily fits Gonzaga’s.
“I gave her hell. Talagang sinabihan ko siya: ‘Who do you think you are? Are you famous? Who are you? What name have you made? Have you carved your name in stone in showbiz?’ Your call time is at 9 o’clock and you come down from your van at 12 o’clock na naka-pajama? Really? If you want to continue taping this soap like this, do it yourself,'” said Bonnevie.
When asked if the actress was famous then (2018) Bonnevie simply said she didn’t think so. “Andiyan lang siya. She didn’t really like make it big. Eh kasi nga attitude eh,” she added.
And although she did not drop names either, it’s interesting to note that Bonnevie and Gonzaga worked on the TV5 teleserye P.S. I Love You back in 2011.
Despite not having any confirmation whether she was the diva actress in Bonnevie’s story, Pinoy netizens seem sure that this was the case. Many left comments on Gonzaga’s Instagram posts teasing her about inviting Bonnevie as her next guest on the podcast.
“Ms. Alex pa-house tour naman po sa bahay ni Miss D hehehe LOL,” teased one netizen.
“Pa-guest nman si Dina Bonnevie sa vlog [mo nang] matalakan ka ulit sa pagiging unprofessional mo at feeling BIG STAR,” commented another.
But some Pinoys had a few choice words for the vlogger which they left in her Instagram comments.
“Sa susunod Alex, wag kang nagpapalate sa work. Kung gusto mong respetuhin yung oras mo, matuto kng rumespeto ng oras ng iba. Wag primadona. Pavictim ka pa naman,” said one.
“Getting sympathy from the public for being late? How time has changed. Baligtad na talaga ngayon. Why don’t you go to your little vlog, quit gaslighting people and just own your mistake? Late is late!” reprimanded another.
While Pinoys were reprimanding Gonzaga on social media, they were simultaneously supporting Bonnevie.
“Hayaan mo na Ms. Dina ung STARLET na si Alex. Wala pa syang napapatunayan, she’s not worth your time,” said one netizen.
“Isa sa mga haligi ng industriya ng showbiz si Ms D. Respetadong veteran actress, award winning. Eh si Alex G? Nga nga. Kaya walang lugar sa pag-aartista masyadong entitled kahit di naman sikat,” said another, honoring Bonnevie’s work as an actress throughout the decades.
On Twitter, many declared themselves “Team Dina.”

Internet sleuths managed to dig up footage of actress Alice Dixson during her interview with Boy Abunda. The actress mentioned that Bonnevie did not like her before because she was always late.
“Oo ayaw [ni Dina Bonnevie] sakin [noon] kasi lagi along late sa set. At least honest ako, diba?” said Dixson, laughing it off.
“Kasi teenager ako, medyo matigas ang ulo ko. I’m stubborn. And sometimes if I don’t get my way, nag-rerebelde ako.. I talk very naturally and honestly, and openly and so does she. Kaya we were able to get along,” she added.
Dixson also said that her “unprofessionalism” lost her a lot of work so she strived to change. And from the looks of it, it looks like Dixson and Bonnevie managed to become friends again.
Whether Alex Gonzaga or Dina Bonnevie were referring to each other in their stories, we spectators did learn a valuable lesson here, folks: Respect everyone’s time whether you’re a newbie or a veteran.
