Beauty knows no limits, especially when it comes to makeup. We’ve seen countless brands launch makeup collections inspired by almost anything, from movies and TV series to classic animes. But this US-based Filipina-owned beauty brand probably takes the cake, concept-wise, for conceptualizing this makeup collection inspired by fast-food giant Jollibee. 

Filipinta Beauty x Jollibee

The chic yet campy makeup collection concept includes a Jollibee ketchup-inspired lip gloss, the Peach Mango Pie blush, and of course, a Jollibee eyeshadow palette featuring the all-glammed up or ~*yassified*~ version, as Gen Zs call it, of our favorite bee mascot.

Yup, you read that right. Sadly, this was just an April Fool’s gag, but how brilliant would it be if it were real?

While most brands like Angkas and Pizza Hut came up with hilarious April Fools’ Day posts, Filipinta Beauty went on a more creative route that had makeup lovers on cloud nine — well, only for a good minute or two. 

“We wanted to participate in April Fool’s, but full disclosure, we’ve been trying to contact Jollibee for a collab since day one. We made this Jollibee x Filipinta concept for you to enjoy,” said Filipinta Beauty founder Hana Acabado. 

“Jollibee, please notice us! LOL,” Abacado concludes.

We’re not gonna lie, we’ll buy this collection in a heartbeat! 

The inspiration

In a separate post, Abacado went more in-depth about her inspiration for the Jollibee makeup collection. She recalled the Jollibee branch near her house in Project 3, Quezon City, which witnessed the most significant moments of her life. And who couldn’t relate to that? It’s impossible to find a Filipino who doesn’t know Jollibee!

“From birthdays to first dates, to lunch breaks and heartbreaks, and everything in between, the @jollibee near my home in Project 3, Quezon City became a constant location for various events in my life growing up,” she said. 

Abacado also explained that the concept pays homage to Jollibee as a big part of Filipino culture. “We wanted to pay homage to the nostalgia and uniquely Filipino experience of growing up with Jollibee and his friends.”

Makeup that celebrates Pinoy culture

Although the Filipinta Beauty x Jollibee collab isn’t in the works yet, Filipinta Beauty continues to champion our rich Filipino heritage on the beauty scene. The makeup brand takes iconic Filipino objects and turns them into amazing beauty products. They have the Lumpia Eyeshadow Palette, which was inspired by almost every Pinoy’s favorite handa, lumpiang shanghai (Filipino spring roll).

Filipinta Beauty also has lipglosses and lip balms that pay homage to classic Filipino childhood treats like iskrambol (ice scramble) and Choc Nut. If that doesn’t say proudly Filipino to you, we don’t know what will.
