One Redditor replied that he wished he ate healthy when he was in his 20s so he didn’t have to “learn the hard way” in his 30s. “Try to eat less junk food and carbs. Eat more vegetables and protein.
The body is less forgiving and doesn’t burn energy as when hitting 30s and have a sedentary lifestyle,” he said.

That is if you plan to have kids at all. According to this Redditor, having kids before you turn 35 years old makes sure they’re at least adults who can take care of themselves when you retire.
He also gave an important bit of advice: Make memories and take lots of photos with your parents while they’re still around so you won’t forget what they’re like when they pass on.

For all the workaholics out there, this Redditor has quite a story. They’ve worked for 13 years in the government sector and it took them a whole decade to learn that pleasing your colleagues and bosses isn’t everything in life.
“I just worked and worked, and at the end when I left, I did not feel appreciated because of the toxic environment and people just worked for the money. The bonds I thought I built were lost overnight. You are just seen as a statistic, people are nice to you just because you are useful to them,” they said.
It might not be the case for every employee but it’s still a good reminder that in your 30s, make sure you don’t make work your whole life.

We know, we know. Going to the gym is such a chore when you’re in your 20s. But you don’t have to have a gym membership to be physically fit. And being physically fit doesn’t always mean abs and biceps too. Make it a habit to at least stretch daily and exercise your joints. Otherwise, “your body would degrade so much when it reaches 40s.”

This Redditor urged everyone to set a target age for retirement and it shouldn’t be at 60 years old.
“Plan and save like mad. Set 50 years old as your target. Once, you hit 50s, you are in a danger zone, your salary is too high and you can’t work as hard as the younger ones,” they said. So while you’re having the time of your life in your 20s and 30s, make sure to still save money!

As you grow older, the sad reality is you’ll probably have to attend more funerals. It could be from your immediate family, a distant relative, a friend, or a friend’s relative. No one’s getting any younger and, if we’re being real here, no one also knows when they will pass away. So as this Redditor says:
“Be prepared that one of your catch-up session with your friends is going to be a funeral wake of one of your friends in your circle.”

Your P12,000 sneakers will look good on you and that P5,000 handbag sure adds to your aesthetic but material things aren’t the most important in life. Make sure you spend your hard-earned money buying experiences for yourself. Go canyoneering in Cebu, organize an Indochina trip with your barkada, try freediving — the list could go on! And that’s called living life.
