Want to Learn A New Language? TESDA’s Offering Language Courses for FREE!

Jul 21, 2023   •   Edgardo Toledo

Learning a new language is now easier than ever, thanks to the rise of countless educational apps and free courses. Among these offerings, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) National Language Skills Center has recently introduced its newest language training programs, and the best part? They come at no cost! Here’s everything you need to know:

What languages are offered?

The TESDA language programs offered are as follows:

  • Basic Korean Language and Culture (100 Hours)
  • English Proficiency for Customer Service Workers (100 Hours)
  • Japanese Language and Culture (150 Hours)
  • Japanese Language and Culture – Level II (300 Hours)
  • Spanish Language for Different Vocations (100 Hours)

The training schedule is from Monday to Friday at the TESDA Central Office in Taguig City and runs four hours per class. They have a morning schedule (8 AM to 12 PM) and an afternoon schedule (1 PM to 5 PM).

TESDA Officer-in-Charge Deputy Director General Rosanna A. Urdaneta says more language programs like Arabic, Mandarin, Italian, and French will be added soon.

What are the requirements?

Even though the language offerings are designed for Filipinos who want to work overseas, you don’t have to be on that track to enrol. However, applicants must be Filipino citizens, at least 18 years old and above. They must also be at least a graduate of high school (old curriculum), senior high school (new curriculum), or Alternative Learning System (ALS).

How to register?

The pre-registration is easy! All you have to do is email lsi@tesda.gov.ph with your complete name and inquiry, then leave it to TESDA to provide further instructions for the pre-registration process.

You may email lsi@tesda.gov.ph or call 8818-8062 for more information. You can also check the latest updates on TESDA’s Facebook page.
