Pinoy Swifties, Here’s Really What That PH Event on Taylor Swift’s Spotify Is All About

Filipino Swifties, we need to calm down. Yesterday, fans were in a frenzy after spotting a certain city on the Spotify artist profile of Taylor Swift.
On the Spotify page of the “Cruel Summer” singer, Swifties saw an event scheduled for November 27, Monday, 7 PM in Pasay. Just like any other fan, our gut reaction was a mixture of WTF and so-soon?!?! Is she actually bringing The Eras Tour to the Philippines?
But upon further inspection, the location of the event read “Test Moa Arena”, which is… what exactly? It seems a little sus in our opinion. And on the same page, Swifties also found another event scheduled on the same day and the same time in London’s Wembley Stadium.
Teka hold your breath ano meron sa November 27 Pasay MOA Arena? bakit nasa events ni Taylor Swift!!!! Tangina!!! Check on spotify seryoso siya 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/Ul0tHmeiYL

Still, after one fan shared a screenshot of the Spotify page, others quickly picked it up, making the info viral on Pinoy social media.
I think there’s been a glitch but… there’s a Taylor Swift event on November 27, 2023 at MOA Arena in Pasay City??? #TSTheErasTour??? pic.twitter.com/SmjdyvzW8K

Swifties did a little digging and found that the listing seems to have come from Songkick.com. It’s a concert discovery platform where fans can see upcoming music events in their area.
Fans have taken screenshots of the Songkick.com page with the same details listed on Spotify. But the website has since taken down the page.

While unconfirmed, we think there’s been a glitch. The Pasay event was probably mistakenly published, and Spotify’s system simply picked it up since it was on their radar.
Spotify’s Live Events feature works like this: They scour the websites of its ticketing partners for any upcoming events of a Spotify artist. Afterward, they list these events chronologically on the Spotify app.
“The Live Events Feed is our new in-app destination where you can discover all the live events in your local area, personalized to you. We’ve sourced these listings from our ticketing partners—Ticketmaster, AXS, DICE, Eventbrite, See Tickets, and more,” read Spotify’s announcement about the Live Events feature.
Their system most likely picked up the listing from SongKick, which, again, has since been removed from their website.
Other fans believe that this might be a fan-organized event, or even maybe something from Taylor Sheesh and other impersonators. This is also not the first time that Songkick listed a fan event as a concert. Just last month, Songkick also listed fan-organized Swiftogeddon in Lexis Nightclub in Mansfield, United Kingdom as Taylor Swift’s concert.

We know it’s beyond exciting if Taylor Swift does make a comeback on the Philippine stage. And we know why you were hopeful yet confused with what you saw on her Spotify page. But at times like this, it’s best to wait for announcements from official channels like Taylor Swift’s own social media pages and website. As much as we’d love to have her here, it seems improbable, though that doesn’t stop us Pinoy Swifties from asking her to come here. Notice us, Inang Taylor.
