The Wanderland Neighborhood is finally complete! The Wanderland 2024 Full Lineup has finally been released, and it’s safe to say that this year’s festival will be one for the books. After much anticipation and speculation, the folks at Karpos have curated a diverse and exciting lineup that caters to all music tastes. Here’s who you can look forward to seeing at this year’s Wanderland Music & Arts Festival.
Kicking off the festival as the Day 1 headliner is none other than Jack Johnson. Known for his laid-back and soulful tunes, Johnson is sure to set the perfect vibe for the first night of Wanderland. Festivalgoers can expect to hear fan favorites like “Better Together” and “Banana Pancakes, as well as some newer tracks from his latest album Meet the Moonlight.
Closing out the festival on Day 2 is Thundercat, the multi-talented musician and producer who has collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus. The two-time Grammy winner’s unique blend of jazz, funk, and R&B creates a sound that transcends musical norms, so get ready for a mind-blowing performance.
Known in the scene as Maroon 5’s keyboardist, New Orleans-native PJ Morton is bringing the best of his funky timbres as an additional jazz boost to the live music atmosphere at Wanderland. Like Thundercat, the American multi-talented musician has been recognized by the Grammys, with four wins and 20 nominations to put a number on it.
On the other hand, grentperez is making his debut at Wanderland. The Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter’s music has been described as soulful and honest, with a touch of R&B and folk. With a musical journey that started with YouTube covers from his bedroom, he has since won the internet’s heart with the jazzy “Cherry Wine” being a fan favorite.
Bringing indie flavors to Wanderland are Parcels, Novo Amor, and The Walters. Hailing from Australia but now based in Berlin, Parcels are known for their distinctive blend of indie pop and disco, resulting in an infectious sound guaranteed to get you dancing. Joining them is Novo Amor, the solo project of Welsh multi-instrumentalist Ali Lacey. His ethereal soundscapes and emotive songwriting have earned him comparisons to artists like Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens. Last but not least, The Walters from Chicago will be showcasing their brand of indie rock, characterized by dreamy melodies and introspective lyrics.
From South Korea, we’ve got the charismatic Hwasa of MAMAMOO fame, known for her empowering, semi-autobiographical songs; the crowd-favorite rapper Beenzino, renowned for his melodic rap style and mainstream hits like “Dali, Van, Picasso”; and Busan-based indie rock band Bosudongcooler, who weave human stories into their soft-paced songs.
Hailing from Taiwan is Cloudriver, a pop artist known for his entrancing tunes and ethereal soundscapes. He has made a name for himself in the Taiwanese music scene, and now he’s set to captivate the Wanderland audience with his unique blend of indie and pop.
Ready to dance to electronic beats? Breakbot & Irfane, a musical project helmed by French DJ Thibaut Berland and vocalist Irfane, are renowned for their unique sound that blends the nostalgia-rich beats of disco with modern electronica. Their music, replete with funky rhythms and synth-heavy melodies, can transform any crowd into a dancing frenzy in no time.
On the other hand, Cosmo’s Midnight, a duo from Australia composed of twin brothers Cosmo and Patrick Liney, brings a vibrant and catchy style to the table. Their music, a fusion of electric dance music and pop with a hint of funk, is known to be irresistibly danceable and universally enjoyable. Get ready for a night filled with groovy tunes and pulsating rhythms.
True to what Wanderland is known for, there is always a place for homegrown acts to flaunt their talent at a globally-acclaimed stage.
Lola Amour, a seasoned band recognized for their homespun melodies, returns to the festival after their triumphant debut in 2017. They are joined by Gabba, a virtuoso musician known for his ability to capture complex emotions through instrumental genius. Jose Miguel, the rising jazz singer, will charm the crowd with his nostalgic tunes, ready to transport Wanderland back to the best of yesteryears. The lineup also includes the distinctive sounds of Ena Mori, the heart-tugging compositions of DWTA, the emotive ballads of Paolo Sandejas, the avant-garde stylings of bird., and the energetic beats of Party Pace.
Wanderland has established itself as a music festival that’s a visual reflection of the vibrant community it has gathered. This year, the festival will feature a talented group of local artists who will bring their work to life with every paint stroke and art build. TRNZ will be showcasing his evocative installation art, while BITTO, Seeweirdo, Valvee, and Babsilog will be painting murals to match the festival’s vibe.
