Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival 2025: Everything We Know So Far

Jan 14, 2025   •   Kyzia Maramara

Get ready to groove as Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival returns for its 2025 edition. The festival, which was last held in 2020 and postponed last year, will be held at the historic Puerta Real Gardens, Intramuros, on March 8, 2025. With the first wave of performers having been announced and tickets already on sale – here’s everything you need to know (so far).

Who’s performing at Malasimbo 2025?

Malasimbo recently announced its first wave of performers last January 10. First on the list is New York DJ Francois K, a legendary remixer whose work spans decades. Francois K has worked with artists like Mick Jagger, The Smiths, U2, Depeche Mode, and more.

O’ahu-based reggae musician Mike Love returns to the Malasimbo stage after debuting in 2020 as the festival’s headliner. He describes his sound as “revolutionary consciousness music,” a genre that fits anyone looking to vibe to genres like reggae, R&B, and soul.

DJ Shortkut from San Francisco will also be joining the line-up. He has performed at renowned events such as: Coachella, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, The Boiler Room, and at numerous festivals worldwide.

Completing Malasimbo’s first wave of artists is the Philippines’ own dance collective Orange Juice Asia – consisting of DJs Marco Pedro, Shingen, and ManilaJunkie. Festival-goers are sure to enjoy performances of a sonic journey with the collective’s unique blend of electronic music and dance.

Look out for the different stages

Beyond the pulsating beats of the DJ Stage and the heart-pumping Live Music Stage, Malasimbo 2025 also offers something for everyone. There will be a dedicated Kids’ Stage to keep the little ones entertained with performances fit for their age, plus a Light Show to create that magical atmosphere.
