8 Things You Need to Know About the 2025 National Student PR Congress and Grand Prix

Nov 5, 2025   •   8List Editor

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to excel in public relations? The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PSRP), the country’s premier organization for public relations professionals, is bringing back its flagship student events. Whether you’re a student who simply wants to learn about PR or you’re keen on entering the industry post-graduation, here’s everything you need to know about the enriching program:

What is the National Student PR Congress and Grand Prix?

The National Student PR Congress and Grand Prix is a two-day gathering for educators and college students from the Philippines who wish to experience and learn skills needed to excel in public relations. It also features a competition where participants apply their new learnings in campaigns.

“Through live pitching and real-time feedback, we provide students with a platform to be heard, challenged, and celebrated. PRSP is here to shape practitioners who can lead, adapt, and use public relations as a force for meaningful change,” said PRSP President, Ma. Luisa P. Sebastian.

While PRSP has been organizing the program for more than a decade, this year’s Congress and Grand Prix is more special than ever, as it marks the first face-to-face program since the pandemic.

When is it happening?

Mark your calendars and clear your schedules: the National Student PR Congress and Grand Prix will take place on November 6 and 7, 2025.

What is this year’s theme?

This year’s program features the theme “Unmuted: Live, Loud, and Limitless PR,” which aligns with PRSP’s mission to develop and nurture a new generation of agile PR practitioners in a rapidly changing world.

Day 1: National Student PR Congress

There’s no skimping on new learnings and information in this year’s National Student PR Congress, which is happening on Day 1. This day will immerse participants in public relations through panel discussions, keynote talks, and breakout sessions by top industry leaders. Some topics include managing reputation in the digital age, post-pandemic influencer dynamics, responsible communication in the AI era, and expanding PR’s role in driving social impact.

The minds and voices behind the National Student PR Congress (arranged in alphabetical order):
Row 1 – Norman Agatep, Macoy Avelina, Angelene Buenaventura, Third Domingo, Franz de la Fuente, Jako De Leon
Row 2 – Noel Ferrer, Mon Gualvez, Earl Guico, Abigail Ho-Torres, Ron Jabal, Erickson Jao

Row 4 – Severino Sarmenta, Andy Saracho, Howie Severino, Joey Silvestre, Edgar Timbungco, Joe Zaldarriaga

Think of all the PR heroes and educators you’ll have the chance to learn from! Ready your note-taking skills and don’t be shy to ask questions – the congress is the perfect opportunity to network and meet your potential employers.

Day 2: Grand Prix

It’s time to put your new learnings to the test on the second day of the event.

The Grand Prix is a high-stakes, real-world competition in which participants receive an actual campaign brief from a leading organization. Applying their creativity and strategic thinking, students are challenged to research, propose an execution, and pitch a presentation under a tight deadline.

Aside from winning exciting prizes, the competition can also open doors to job opportunities.

How much is the registration fee?

The registration fee for the two-day event costs PHP200 per participant.

Where is the venue?

The two-day event will be held at De La Salle College – Saint Benilde in Taft Avenue, Manila, so better prepare your commute route or book nearby places.

How can I sign up?
