It’s that time of year again: Google’s Year in Search is finally here, and it’s serving a very revealing snapshot of what Filipinos obsessed over, stressed about, and couldn’t stop searching in 2025. From safety alerts and elections to demon hunters and the rise of AI, this year’s top trends paint a surprisingly accurate picture of the Pinoy internet psyche—equal parts anxious, curious, and extremely online. Here’s what we searched for the most.

No surprise here. The unsettling wave of earthquakes that rattled the latter part of 2025 sent Filipinos straight to Google—both for real-time updates and for safety alerts. It’s probably one of the rare moments when Search doubled as both panic button and lifeline.

Sitting confidently at #2 overall, the Halalan 2025 results had the entire nation refreshing Google nonstop last summer. Midterm elections always spark conversation, but this year was next-level.

Roblox also remains one of the most popular video games in the world, with its in-game variant Grow a Garden ranking top three overall, thanks to its popularity among Filipino youth.
2025 was a massive year for AI, and Filipinos were clearly experimenting. Not only was Gemini AI the #1 most-searched AI tool (with ChatGPT at #6), but the phrase “humanize this” also cracked the list at #7. Translation: more Pinoys are using AI for work, school, passion projects, and probably turning stiff paragraphs into something that won’t get side-eyed by their boss or professor.
Still a cultural superpower. The comeback and series finale of Squid Game pushed it back into the global spotlight, and the Philippines was no exception. Ranking #6 overall, the show proved once again that when it comes to pop culture grip, it’s in a league of its own.
Filipinos absolutely ate up the South Korean animated hit Kpop Demon Hunters, making it the #2 most-searched movie of 2025, right behind Final Destination. Not only did we enjoy the movie, but we also streamed that soundtrack to death. “I was a ghost, I was alone (AH)!”
2025 was a big year for Filipino pride, and homegrown pro tennis player Alex Eala led the charge. Ranked #1 among Female Personalities and #4 in Sports, the tennis star cemented her place as a national favorite. She joins Manny Pacquiao, who made a return at #2 in Sports.
Turns out OPM is thriving online, too. Dionela topped the Male Filipino Personality searches, with “Marilag” proving unstoppable. He even outranked the year’s unofficial anthem, “Golden” from K-Pop Demon Hunters, which snagged #3 in Music.
