To our dearest book lovers, in case you missed it, what you’ve been waiting for all year is back! Whether it’s to hunt for cheaper books and limited editions or just to browse shelves upon shelves of wonderfully new and beautiful novels, the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) 2026 has a little something for everyone. And—plot twist!—it’s not just books MIBF carries. It also hosts all sorts of special events for its loyal readers.
So before you head to checkout clad with your credit card and your tall stack of books to add to your “to read” list, here are 8 events you can catch at this year’s MIBF. Do it for the plot!
Atom Araullo’s book, A View From the Ground, was released around a year ago today, and now he’ll be at MIBF 2026 to sign copies! Catch him on September 13 from 5 PM to 6 PM at the UP Press Booth.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Wattpad will have a booth at MIBF 2026 featuring popular Filipino writers you know and love from your Wattpad days.
Win exclusive anniversary merchandise and meet your favorite writers like 4reuminct (author of The Rain in España), eatmore2behappy (author of Ang Mutya Ng Section E), Knightinblack (author of Hell University), beeyotch (author of Seducing Drake Palma), CeCeLib (author of the Possessive series), and more! For a more detailed schedule and real-time updates, read more here.
Have your very own K-Drama moment by visiting Kim Ho-yeon, author of The Second Chance Convenience Store. He’ll be at MIBF 2026 for a book talk and to sign copies of his novel. Catch him at the National Book Store booth on September 12, from 3 PM to 5 PM!
One of the most powerful collaborations in history is when music and literature join hands to make magic, and you can experience that magic yourself at MIBF 2026. Ben&Ben’s very own Miguel and Paolo Guico will take the stage on September 12 at 10 AM for the launch of The Traveller Across Dimensions, a storybook serving as a narrative counterpart for their studio album of the same name.
Keeping on the same theme of the delicious marriage between music and writing, David Guerrero—lover of The Beatles and writer of You Won’t See Me: When the Beatles Ghosted Imelda—and veteran broadcaster Lourd de Veyra will band (get it?) together for “The Beatles in Manila” to talk about rock history. Catch them on September 12 at 4:30 PM.
Courtesy of the University of Santo Tomas, beloved journalist Howie Severino will be at MIBF 2026 to meet and greet visitors. His new book, People I Knew: And Some I Didn’t But Wrote About Them Anyway, is a collection of stories and encounters from his years in journalism. He’ll be there on September 11, at Function Room 1 Stage, from 4 PM to 5 PM.
As massive as MIBF always is, it only makes sense to have an award show, too. Hosted by the Book Development Association of the Philippines, the Gintong Aklat Awards stand to honor the golden standard in local book design, production, and literary quality. It’s happening on September 9 from 4:30 PM to 8 PM.
MIBF 2026 offers all sorts of panels for all sorts of fans, but if you’re an avid romance reader like me, then this panel is for you.
On September 13 12:30 PM, Penguin Random House SEA presents “The Next Love Story” panel, featuring authors like Ines Bautista-Yao, Mica de Leon, Kyra Ysabel, and AK Tolentino.
