If you could ask your ex one question, what would it be?

A video done by The And project has been making the rounds recently. In it we watch Ali and Andrew, a couple who dated for seven years, get together and ask each other a series of questions about what happened when they were still a couple. Needless to say, things got way too real and bit too tense as both parties tried to give their most heartfelt and honest answers.

Breakups are hard. DUH. After all, you lose what you thought was an awesome plan for your future–your ONLY plan for your future. You lose what you thought was THE partner. You lost someone you shared memories with, someone you shared laughs with, someone you shared secrets with, someone with whom you felt vulnerable yet secure. You lost your best friend. No matter how amicable or “decent” your split was, you’re still left with a ton of unanswered questions swirling in your mind.

Just what are those questions? Here are a few:

Do you still fantasize about that? Why or why not?

We did help shape each other into the people we are now. Why would you want to be friends? Or another question is, is your hate and resentment strong enough to erase me from your memory?

We had so many good times together. Despite the breakup, what were your favorite moments and traditions that we once had?

Is there anything we could have done differently? Is there anything you wish you or I did, or didn’t do?

Did you actually love me or were you just scared of being alone? Were you in it just because it was comfortable?
