The sixth season finale of the The Walking Dead is fast approaching, and fans are on edge. Even though some viewers don’t follow the comic books, they know Negan is coming and that does not bode well for Rick Grimes and crew. Once Negan’s arrives, nothing will ever be the same. This guy is bad news. He may very well be the meanest, most evil and heartless son of a bitch the survivors have ever faced. He is a vile and sadistic man who has absolutely no problem killing anyone. With his appearance, Negan will kill off a major character in a very brutal way.
(WARNING. SPOILERS BELOW).
In the comics, Negan captures Rick Grimes’ group and punishes them for taking on The Saviors. To prove a point that he is someone not to be f*cked with, he grabs a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire (which Negan fondly calls “Lucille”), lines up the survivors and tells them he’s going to randomly execute one of them. He chooses Glenn, and bludgeons him to death. He does this right in front of the pregnant Maggie.
However, it’s important to note that the TV is not a 100% faithful to the comics. In the books, Rick’s hand was chopped off by the Governor. Lori survived giving birth to a child; however, she was killed by the Governor. She falls down and eventually crushes her baby to death. Heck, Daryl didn’t even exist in the comics.
Which then begs the question, will Glenn indeed be the one to meet his end by Negan’s hands? Or will we see another curveball and instead see a different character die? One thing’s for sure: something bad will happen. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick Grimes) said he felt really bad in reading the finale’s script. “I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working on The Walking Dead that I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was so angry and frustrated and I felt sick. And that was just after reading it.” Oh boy.
So who’s going to be introduced to Lucille? Here are some possibilities. TWD fans, brace yourselves. This is going to get ugly.

Given his fate in the comic, Glenn is the obvious choice. His death sets into motion Maggie’s journey to become the eventual leader of Hilltop. Obvious choice or not, his death will still be a painful punch in the gut for fans.
It also didn’t help when writer Robert Kirkman dropped by Comedy Central’s @Midnight and trolled The Walking Dead’s fan base by dropping this bombshell as a “fake spoiler” for a TV show.
Why you gotta troll, Kirkman? We’re already on a rollercoaster of emotions.

The latest episodes showed Carol struggling with a new found sense of morality. What gives? She was murdering people left and right and all of a sudden she gains a newfound sense of compassion. Being a merciful human being won’t get you too far in the TWD universe. Also, she’s been pretty much under the radar for most of season six. Her strength is diminishing. As a person who doesn’t want to kill anymore, being brutally murdered by a person who has no regard for human life may leave viewers emotionally shattered.
Also, Carol’s been dead since issue #42. Negan doesn’t arrive until issue #100. Since it seems that her story is about to be finished, it seems convenient to kill her off TV.

Morgan’s portrayal is a stark contrast to his character in the comics. Instead of displaying symptoms of a mental illness and engaging in self-harm, the TV series shows Morgan as a calm and collected survivor. He values peace and is often the voice of reason for the group. Negan killing Morgan emphasizes there’s no room for peace and humanity in their zombie-filled world.
Though Heath is still very much alive in the comics, actor Corey Hawkins has been cast as the lead role for 24: Legacy. Heath plays a significant role in the series but the show may need to kill him off because of the actor landing a role in the 24 spin-off.

Noticed how Aaron’s getting more air time? It’s as if the show wants us to invest more emotion to this character should his head meet Lucille’s wrath. Aaron strikes a very close relationship with Rick in the comics. We haven’t seen that closeness on the TV series just yet. We haven’t seen signs of his boyfriend Eric, either. Aaron plays an important role in the comics as one of the people in charge of supplies. But that’s in the COMICS. Remember, Andrea is a major player in the comics but she got killed off a few seasons ago. We’ll see how this plays out.

If we’re following the comics’ trajectory, Abraham would be dead by now thanks to an arrow through his skull. Abraham is Rick’s right-hand man in the books, and he’s proven himself to be a reliable asset whenever shit hits the fan on the series. Unlike fellow badass Daryl, he’s a love-him-or-hate-him character. The fact that he broke up with Rosita didn’t sit too well with some fans. Doing this just makes it easier for him to be killed off, and that would please some fans in the process.
Michael Cudlitz, who plays Abraham, said in an interview that he’d love to square off in an ass-kicking contest with Negan. “I would love to be involved with Negan. If they decide I’m going to go during that time, I would love to have some badass, hand-to-hand deal with Negan.” He adds, “Personally, I think he’s more frightening before we meet him, because we see the reach of what he does in the comics and stuff.”

Daryl’s in a unique spot considering the large fan base he has and the fact that he’s not in the comic books at all. The show’s writers can pretty much do anything they want with him. Considering he’s really loved, Negan killing him will cement the villain’s reputation as one of the vilest creatures to walk this earth. And frankly, that’s what you want when you want a believable and menacing villain.
Considering he killed a lot of Saviors with a rocket launcher, he might have gotten Negan’s attention. He’ll be a target of Negan’s rage and he might have to go soon. The question is, if the show’s brave enough to piss off and crush the series’ fans. Should this happen, expect a lot of angry rants and a possible riot.

A really shocking plot twist is if the show decides to kill the pregnant Maggie. It would be a heartbreaking image to see her meet a grisly end. On a writing and storytelling angle, can The Walking Dead handle another baby in their unforgiving world?
Can The Walking Dead kill a pregnant character and her unborn child? Well, Game of Thrones is not above pulling such a scenario and it became one of the most talked about events in TV history. If you thought killing Daryl would make fans revolt, imagine the reactions if Maggie bites the bullet. This scenario would cement Negan as the embodiment of evil, and give Rick Grimes and crew the motivation to stop Negan’s reign of terror at any cost. One thing’s for sure, we don’t want Maggie gone just yet.
