Albie Casiño and Andi Eigenmann: Dating History

Back in 2011, Eigenmann was a 20-year-old star who was cast as the titular Agua Bendita. Her then-boyfriend, 18-year-old Casiño, was a rising actor starring opposite Kathryn Bernardo in Mara Clara. He was poised for fame with projects lined up (he was originally Bernardo’s on-screen love team partner). And then came the news of Eigenmann’s pregnancy which her mother, actress Jaclyn Jose confirmed. During an interview, Jose said that the father is Eigenmann’s “first boyfriend” but that he left her when he found out about the pregnancy. At the time, Casiño and Eigenmann just called their relationship quits following cheating and physical abuse rumors from both sides, something Casiño vehemently denied.

 

Who is the father of her child?

Eigenmann soon went on to give birth to her first child, her daughter Ellie. But the true identity of the father wasn’t revealed until half a decade later. When she broke up with Casiño in 2011, she got together with Jake Ejercito, former president Joseph Estrada’s son.

Everyone was left to speculate whether Eigenmann’s daughter was Casiño’s or Ejercito’s but Eigenmann’s family was clear — it was the former’s. She even confidently stated so in her blog post published in September 2011. Meanwhile, Casiño’s family said they would be happy to take the responsibility but they would also like to have the child get a DNA test.

The remark provoked the ire of Jose and Mark Gil, Eigenmann’s father. They came to their daughter’s defense. While Gil didn’t name-drop Casiño, he did tell him to man up and admit he’s the father even if he has no intention of fulfilling that role. Jose, for her part, reiterated that she refuses the DNA test request and that she never wants to see Casiño’s family again.

The ex-couple obviously didn’t end up on good terms. But months after Eigenmann gave birth, she crossed paths with him at a bar in Makati. Shortly after, Casiño got beaten up by her friends. This prompted his mother to file a report against Eigenmann and those involved. Eigenmann maintained that she just threw wine in his face and let him be but Casiño said that she slapped him and had something to do with the brawl.

If Casiño’s career was in a slow decline before that, the fresh issues cost him more projects. He had so much potential, but this controversy tarnished his reputation.

Five years later, in 2016, Ejercito confirmed he is Ellie’s biological father. They did a DNA test after all in 2015 which proved the fact. This dramatic conclusion came after half a decade of Eigenmann telling everyone it was Casiño who was the father.

 

Albie Casiño’s no holds barred interview

Fast forward to 2021 and Casiño had a no holds barred interview with Kumu in October, right before entering the Big Brother house.

He was asked about his previous relationship with Eigenmann. “I’m kind of tired of covering up for her, bro, you know what I mean? I’m not gonna hold my tongue so you can look good anymore,” he said. Casiño shared that Eigenmann never apologized for the damage he did to his career when she dragged his name in 2011.

Casiño said that he wanted at least a public apology but he didn’t mention it to Eigenmann after realizing she probably won’t do it. He also said that they spoke before but he considered it as a “non-apology” on her part. “I wanted to say some other stuff like ‘if you bash me publicly, the least you could do is apologize publicly right?’ But nah, I guess it ain’t in her I guess. She ain’t like that. But yeah, I hope she thinks about that at night before she goes to sleep. I’m not even joking,” he said.

The actor expressed that he doesn’t want to talk to Eigenmann again, even if they crossed paths. “So I’d rather not talk to her. If she tries to talk, I’m just going to look at her like she has poop on her shirt. That’s all I’m going to do,” Casiño continued.

 

Eigenmann’s sister posts receipts of apologies

Casiño saying Eigenmann didn’t apologize to him didn’t sit well with her sister, Stevie Eigenmann. She took to Instagram to post a screenshot of a conversation between the ex-couple. The exchange happened in September 2020.

“The person you met once before was very young, and lost, and quite obviously a completely different person from who I am today, so on behalf of the old me, I apologize, Albie,” said Eigenmann in the screenshot. “Sorry for all that volatility I may have caused you in the past, and for being so young and naive, dragging you into something you were never supposed to be part of.”

Casiño responded by saying “I never asked for an apology and I never needed one.” “I look at it like we’ve both moved on and we’re both different people now. I just thought I’d have a laugh about it, [because] if we can’t laugh at our past hardships in life, it’s kinda like being a slave to the moment still. Again, no ill will or hard feelings,” he added.

 

Jaclyn Jose reacts to Albie Casiño

Eigenmann’s sister wasn’t the only one to come to her aid after Casiño talked about the “non-apology.” Her mother also reacted via a social media post that has since been deleted. She begged ABS-CBN production head Laurenti Dyogi to stop using Eigenmann in PBB’s “circus” for “ratings. Pretty soon the begging turned into a threat. Jose told Dyogi that if they weren’t going to stop the “ignorant child” (Casiño), she won’t hold back from embarrassing them.

She also challenged Casiño saying she will reveal to the public how he allegedly beat up Eigenmann even when she was pregnant. This is an allegation that Casiño denied multiple times before.

 

Casiño claims he lost millions of pesos in projects due to the issue

The paternity controversy caused irreparable damage, said Casiño, career-wise and emotionally. He clarified that him telling Eigenmann on Instagram that he “didn’t need an apology” was a lie. He just said that since he wanted the conversation to end and he didn’t want to “waste more time” talking to her.

During his recent Cinema News interview, he shared afresh how the 2011 issue hurt his then-rising showbiz career. He eventually recovered having starred in On the Wings of Love, Los Bastardos, and Pusong Ligaw. But those projects could’ve been more.

“Let’s take away all of the bashing, all of the defamings of my name in public, even my family’s name. They even went up to my mom, all the while knowing I wasn’t the dad. Let’s take that out of consideration. How about the fact that I lost millions of pesos worth of projects and endorsements from that?” he said.

“And it wasn’t just a hundred thousand, bro. It’s a million pesos worth of, I guess, ‘damages’ because that’s literally money that they took out of my bank account. That’s money that could have changed my family’s life. Money that could have changed my life, right? So how can I be okay with them? Why would I be okay with them?” he continued.

Casiño still expressed frustration about how Eigenmann kept him in the middle of that controversy for five years and then didn’t officially clear his name when the truth came out. He is still waiting for her long-overdue public apology.

 

Andi Eigenmann is yet to speak up

It looks like Eigenmann has opted to keep mum this time around. She is currently living in Siargao and happily engaged to professional surfer Philmar Alipayo. The couple has two kids, Lilo and Koa. And with her oldest daughter, Ellie, living with them, Eigenmann’s life is nothing but picture-perfect. Meanwhile, Albie and his fans are still waiting on an apology for closure. Will she give it?
