Fast forward to eight years later, Alden drops a bomb. During his Tonight with Boy Abunda interview, Tito Boy hit him with a question everyone was dying to know in 2015: “Did you fall for Maine Mendoza?”

The 31-year-old actor gets shy but utters the words every secret AlDub fan wanted to hear: “Yes, I did.” Cue Bryan White’s “God Gave Me You.”

“Hypocrite po ako kung hindi,” Alden continued. “Ayoko pong sabihin na alam niya pero I did confess.”

In response, one X app user just had to tweet: “Thousands of Filipino lolas just fell to their arthritis-stricken knees.”

While the confession might’ve elicited some sort of kilig — the love team culture is strong, after all — in hindsight, it was a weird question to ask and Pinoys on social media started pointing it out.
