8 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Miss ASIYA Music Festival & Conference

8 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Miss ASIYA Music Festival & Conference

Sep 27, 2024   •   Ina Louise Manto

A weekend full of bop-worthy music and good vibes – ASIYA promises this and so much more. Happening on October 12 and 13, this new music festival will gather some of Asia’s best acts, and here are reasons why you shouldn’t miss it:

1. It’s the first Asian music festival and conference in the country

How cool would it be to be able to say that you went to the first Asian music festival and conference in the Philippines? Most of the artists in the international lineup will have their PH debut; witnessing them live will be a core memory. You might discover your next favorite Asian artist and meet new music fest buddies here!

2. We’re obsessed with the local acts

From bands we grew up with, like Urbandub and UDD, to emerging acts like GABBA and Ysanygo, we’re excited for the Filipino artists who will take the stage during ASIYA Fest. If you missed Reese Lansangan’s homecoming show last year, this is the perfect opportunity to see her live.

3. It’s your chance to see BINI live

Speaking of local acts, if you didn’t get the chance to score tickets to BINI’s Grand BINIverse concerts in November, this is your chance to see the chart-breaking Filipino girl group up close. They’re headlining Day 2 (October 14), and we’re ready to sing “Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi” because we can’t get enough of them!

4. Discover emerging Asian artists

There’s no need to book international flights and hotels to catch your favorite Asian artists in their home countries — they’re flying to us, and all we need to do is show up and give our full support! Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea are just some countries the international artists are from.

5. Witness South Korean band Hyukoh and Taiwanese and Sunset Roller Coaster on one stage

What happens when two legendary Asian artists collaborate? They produce tracks that will get you dancing. After getting together in 2020, Hyukoh and Sunset Roller Coaster released their joint album “AAA” this year, and we wouldn’t want to miss hearing it live. If you’re a huge fan of Asian bands, this is the dream collaboration, and Pinoys are lucky to have them as the Day 1 headliners.

6. It’s also an opportunity to learn from industry veterans

ASIYA isn’t just a celebration of amazing Asian acts; it’s also an avenue for music enthusiasts, producers, and agents to learn from industry veterans. The first edition of “Music Beyond Borders: Navigating Global Markets and Festival Opportunities” conference program, is a first-of-its-kind instructive experience designed to elevate Asian music artists and industry professionals to global competitiveness.

To be held on October 12 and 13 at World Trade Center Metro Manila, the two-day program includes a Spotify masterclass, a keynote about the future of the live music experience and innovating programs and practices to advancing music culture, and four panel discussions that will explore key international markets and festivals—will take place before the festival performances from 20 of the most sought-after and exciting acts from the Philippines and across Asia.

Slots are limited, so book ASAP!

7. Strategic location

ASIYA will be held at the World Trade Center in Pasay, which is close to international airports, hotels, shopping malls, and restaurants. Plus, the event will be indoors, so trust that the show will go on even if it rains or shines. It offers good ventilation, too—enough to keep you cool as you dance the weekend away.

8. You’re going to have a great time

ASIYA is organized by Karpos, the same team behind the annual Wanderland Music Festival, so trust that you’re going to have a damn good time. Ready your comfiest yet stylish OOTDs, prepare your pre-concert playlists, and don’t forget to get your passes online.

See you in October!
