8 Celebs Who Took a Stand at the Trillion Peso March and Baha sa Luneta Protests

Sep 22, 2025   •   Kyzia Maramara

Last September 21, the streets of Luneta and EDSA turned into a sea of white shirts and protest signs as Filipinos rallied against corruption during the Baha sa Luneta and Trillion Peso March in EDSA. Over 100,000 people showed up, demanding accountability for the alleged misuse of trillions in flood control funds. Among the crowd were some of your favorite celebrities, proving that fighting for change isn’t just for the everyday Juan, it’s for everyone.

Here are just some of the stars who marched, chanted, and made their voices heard:

1. Vice Ganda

One of the country’s top taxpayers didn’t hold back. Comedian Vice Ganda took to the stage and swore at corrupt officials, condemning not only those who condone them but also the people who tolerate them.

Also spotted on stage: Gabbi Garcia, Iza Calzado, Donny Pangilinan, and siblings Anne Curtis and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

2. Catriona Gray

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray walked the streets of EDSA waving the Philippine flag and chanting along with the people: “Ikulong na yan, mga kurakot!”

“Pilipinas. Nafefeel nyo ba? We wear no colours – we stand together united for our nation,” Gray wrote later on Instagram. “Sa mga lider namin, the ball is in your court.. ipaglaban niyo kami. Change takes time. But the time to change is NOW.”

3. Maris Racal

Sunshine actress Maris Racal also didn’t pass up the chance to join the movement and make her voice heard. In a video, she’s seen with a megaphone and chanting along with the people: “Serbisyo sa tao, huwag gawing negosyo.”

The actress, who celebrates a birthday the day after the demonstrations, took to Instagram to say her birthday wish: “It’s my birthday today. Ang wish ko lang ay DPWH. Di Pwede ang Walang Hustisya.”

Before the rallies kicked off, Dingdong Dantes led a run against corruption with celebs like Kim Atienza, Kim Molina, Gerald Napoles, and more. The participants were all wore black with phrases condemning corruption.

“Today, our small community gathered not just for distance, but with prayer and intention,” wrote Dantes on Instagram.

“We hoped. We dreamed. For a corrupt-free Philippines. For accountability from those who have stolen from us. And for those attending the big rallies, we lifted them up in prayer as well. We each have different ways of expressing our grievances and hopes. Today, this was ours,” he added.

5. Julia Barretto

Anne Curtis and husband Erwan Heussaff also joined the march. Afterward, Anne posted a heartfelt message for the next generation, empowering them to love the Philippines and to break the chains of corruption.

“Hindi madali, pero importante. Nandito tayo. Walang makakalimot! At sana, wag lang po hanggang social media,” she later wrote on Instagram, urging everyone not to stop at social media.

Other celebrities who were spotted at the Trillion Peso March include Nadine Lustre, Mika Salamanca, Darren Espanto, Alex Medina, Jodi Sta. Maria, Angel Aquino, and more.

When thousands take to the streets, the message is loud and clear: silence is no longer an option.
