DC dominated Hall H with trailers and sizzle reels for its three upcoming films. Suicide Squad, which hits theaters this August, teases more of the group’s shenanigans and even threw in a b-roll of behind the scenes footage.
Suicide Squad premieres this August 2016!
Hollywood’s first female superhero movie (and first female-directed one, thanks to Patty Jenkins) is looking good! Gal Gadot channels regal warrior realness in the face of slightly condescending menfolk and what is arguably the most uncomfortable way to smuggle a sword in evening dress.
Wonder Woman is scheduled for release in June 2017.
It looks like WB/DC took the criticism that their movies were too grimdark to heart. This brief Oceans 11-esque recruitment montage has more humor than the previous movies combined. Ezra Miller’s Flash is reliably adorkable, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman is brooding and hot. We don’t see much of Cyborg, but that’s less an indicator of airtime and more an indicator of VFX-in-progress.
Justice League is scheduled to premiere in November 2017.
Lego Batman was one of the highlights in an already awesome Lego movie, and his spinoff movie promises more irreverent digs at Batman’s dark origins and treatment. Will Arnett reprises his role as Batman, and he is now joined by Zachary Galafiniakis as Joker and Michael Cera as Robin.
Lego Batman is scheduled for release in February 2017.
