On Saturday, Dindi Pajares was crowned Miss Supranational Philippines 2021 by the Miss World Philippines (MWP) Organization. This was due to the postponement of the MWP coronation night after GCQ was reinstated after the surge of COVID-19 cases. Get to know this beauty who will be representing our country in Poland next month!
Dindi’s hometown is Balanga, Bataan, where she owns a small general merchandising store.
On 25 July 2021, the MWP Organization held a Facebook livestream to announce the results of the candidates’ voting for who would represent PH at the Miss Supranational pageant.
“I want to let you know, the people watching now, that the ones who judged and chose our official candidate for Miss Supranational 2021 are the candidates,” MWP Organization director Arnold Vegafria said during the live video announcement.
Dindi shared that she has been joining pageants since she was ten years old. She joined local beauty pageants like Miss Philippines Earth 2011, Binibining Pilipinas 2016 and 2017, and the most recent Miss World Philippines 2021. In 2016, she was awarded Best in National Costume in Binibining Pilipinas.
When she’s not strutting down the runway, Dindi is strutting down the aisles of airplanes. Who knows — you might’ve seen her on one of your flights!
Aside from being a cabin crew member, Dindi is also a part of the Philippine Air Force Reserve Command. Yes, she knows how to fly a plane! She was taking flying lessons while she competed in Binibining Pilipinas.
“You can also call me Sergeant Dindi,” she jokes to Business Mirror.
Dindi describes herself as “an old soul.” She cites Bituing Walang Ningning starring Sharon Cuneta, Abakada Ina starring Lorna Tolentino, and Himala starring Nora Aunor as some of her favorites.
When she visited Seoul, South Korea, Dindi couldn’t help but post photos about her idols like Park Seojoon and Jung Haein. She’s just like us, a fangirl at heart.
This is Dindi Pajares’ answer when asked what her main advocacy is. For two years now, Dindi has been working with She Weaves, a social enterprise in her hometown working with indigenous communities like the Ayta Magbukun Community. She aims to put the spotlight on them on her journey in Miss World Philippines 2021 and now in Miss Supranational 2021.
“I want to inspire people to really find the value in our society not by gender, but with their capabilities,” she said. “I want to let people know that you can be who you want to be. Just believe in yourself and trust your capabilities. By doing that, I know that I can inspire a lot of people to trust their capabilities and be who exactly what they want to be.”
Dindi Pajares is set to fly to Poland this August 3 for the competition scheduled on August 21. Should she win, Dindi will follow the footsteps of Mutya Johanna Datul, the first Filipino and Asian candidate to be crowned Miss Supranational in 2013.
The Miss World Philippines Organization is still set to hold the coronation night on August 8, where seven other titles will be passed on: Miss World Philippines, Miss Eco Philippines, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas, Miss Tourism Philippines, Miss Environment Philippines, and Miss Eco Teen Philippines.
