It’s just Wednesday, and what a week we’ve had so far. But let’s take a break from the bad news and see what’s going on with the rest of the world. Specifically Elon Musk. The billionaire behind Tesla who wants to conquer Mars welcomed his new son on Tuesday evening and broke the internet afterward. Here’s why.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 5, 2020
Elon Musk and partner Grimes welcomed their newly born baby boy on May 4. Musk shared some updates on Twitter after someone asked for news about the baby.
Mom & baby all good

Of course, he complied and posted a photo of him holding his son! But the internet went wild after he shared the name of his newborn.

Say what now?
Elon and Grimes aren’t the typical types of parents who would go for usual names like “Kevin” or “Steve”. Instead, they went for “X Æ A-12”. Yes, they did name their child X Æ A-12. Is it a formula or a new Tesla model? Honestly, did they give birth to a robot? We all thought it’s something to be decoded to find out the child’s real name but no, it really is like that.

It’s never too early to use a filter on a child. He’s truly a savage as he already broke the internet, just hours after his birth.

But Grimes shared a tweet with an explanation of her baby’s name:
•X, the unknown variable ⚔️
•Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence)
•A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent

(A=Archangel, my favorite song)

Well, at least there was clearly a lot of thought behind the baby’s name. It’s not clear if it’s really his name or it’s just a joke between the couple. One thing’s for sure though, the internet has already gone wild with their odd choice of name.
my wife just asked me if the https://t.co/KX8pNPT8Dq link was part of the the name and i said i didn’t know https://t.co/00iue3EQNy

It does look like a link, no doubt. But it looks more of a formula.

Ah, the rich, and their minds. If you haven’t seen Parasite (are you living under a rock?), you better see it now to understand this reference.

Elon better start developing a machine that would enable people to communicate with his son easily, then.

Worst case scenario: it’s your first day of teaching and the principal decided to observe your classes. OH NO.

Don’t worry though, he’s here to explain! Kidding aside, Elon liked a tweet suggesting the correct pronunciation of his child’s name. So it’s “X Ash Archangel“.

It would be really cool if he would have powers like that, right? But that only happens in movies.

Would it be too much if they start doing a robot dance?
There has been a fair share of parents coming up with the wildest names during the pandemic. Baby X Æ A-12 is not alone in this one. We are thankful for their safe delivery but these kids will grow up to be reminders of how much of a roller coaster ride 2020 was someday.
In India, twins born in March were named Covid and Corona. Yes, the names of the virus. Another Indian parent also chose a unique name and named their baby “Lockdown“. According to the father, he named his child like that because he believes that their Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, made the right choice in imposing it all over the country. Lockdown’s father wanted him to be a reminder of taking precautions against COVID-19.
Even Pinoys have been creative too. The new formula for thinking of a baby’s name: a tragedy like Kobe Bryant‘s death plus a global pandemic.
Saw a message where one of the maid’s daughters gave birth last March 15 (start of the lockdown) & you’ll never guess what they named their NEWBORN CHILD…….
COVID BRYANT 😫🤞🏻

That’s some of 2020’s biggest headlines rolled into one name.
Yesterday we got COVID ROSE and today we get COVIDUVIDAPDAP. for the filipino moms giving birth tomorrow, y’all need to step up your game https://t.co/wAmRXIm1cG pic.twitter.com/9SbSJBr2sq

Coviduvidapdap’s parents must be big fans of Willie Revillame to name their child one that resembles the lyrics of the artist’s popular song, “Beep Beep Beep Ang Sabi Ng Jeep”.
