Since 2008, Musk’s rockets have been in use for missions to the International Space Station. NASA is now a regular client of SpaceX, since Elon’s brilliance has led to a myriad of innovations that dramatically reduced the cost of spaceflight. To this day, the only four entities that ever managed to successfully launch a spacecraft into orbit and safely return it to Earth are the US, Russia, China and SpaceX.
Elon Musk is currently testing his latest brainchild, a new spacecraft equipped with a rocket large enough to bring 100 humans to Mars at once. This may sound like something straight out of science fiction, but he is seriously planning to terraform Mars into a new Garden of Eden.
In his spare time, Musk works on the development of an entirely new mode of transportation called the Hyperloop. Passengers would travel between cities in a small capsule through a tube raised 20 feet above ground at the speed of 1,220 kilometers per hour. Yeah, like that thing from The Jetson’s.
In April of 2016, Elon Musk, unveiled what may be the most transformative company of the 21st century. OpenAI is a non-profit artificial intelligence research company that aims to promote and develop open-source friendly AI “in such a way as to benefit, rather than harm, humanity as a whole.” With Elon at the helm, we aren’t worried about being ruled by evil robot overlords. At least, not really.
