High-waist mom jeans, vinyls and gramophones, polaroids — these are just some trends millennials and Gen Z have resurrected. Falling back in love with roller skates is just the latest on that list. Take your barkada out roller skating at the new Roller Disco in Fisher Mall. It’s one of the many roller skating spots in the metro where many flock to give inline skates a test drive. You’ll be treated to disco balls, neon lights, hardwood floors, and fellow skate enthusiasts. And if your barkada happens to love the activity, you’ll be glad to know there’s a community of roller skaters more than happy to let you join them on their trips in the metro.

Cooking is a great bonding moment with the barkada. You can one-up each other on your baking skills and then get to eat the cake after. Don’t have an oven in your kitchen? Newly-opened I Did It Myself Bakery in SM Megamall can fix that for you. They’ve got a wide selection of baked goods you can try your hand at making. There’s a variety of cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, desserts with fruits, cookies, and more. No baking experience is required but by the end of your session, you’ll have baked a cake from scratch. How cool is that?
SM Bowling Center, 4F SM Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall
P209 per game/person | Shoe Rental: P50
There’s nothing like a competitive couple of rounds of bowling to test friendships and your dignity. Bring your barkada to the nearest bowling alley (SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, Makati Cinema Square) and throw a few balls around. Once you hit strike, euphoria and adrenaline rush ensues. This activity requires no prior experience but be prepared for losses, one can only take a number of balls in the gutter before one feels too hopeless.
