It was supposed to be a great day with friends, but just when you thought everything will work out, that one friend suddenly goes M.I.A. and turns off his/her phone. Sounds familiar? Yup, it happens to us most of the time.
But no matter how pissed off we get with these lame excuses, admit it—we’re also guilty of doing the same from time to time.
Below are the most common excuses we’ve all heard, and, well, used to cancel on barkada plans:
What it usually means: ‘Di ako pinayagan… ng sarili ko.
What it usually means: I just want to stay at home.
What it usually means: I’m sick, sick of you guys.
What it usually means: I really didn’t want to come.
What it usually means: I have other priorities, but I wouldn’t want to hurt your feelings.
What is usually means: I think it will be more fun there.
What it usually means: I really don’t have money, so I’ll go to a birthday party instead.
Other meaning: There really is no birthday party. I just invented it.
What it usually means: “I’m saving my leaves for other trips.”
Other meaning: “I’ve really consumed all my leaves.”
