Famichiki lovers, here’s your chance to show just how much you love this popular snack! Family Mart is collaborating with Miyoshi Rug to release these Famichiki slippers. Here’s what you should know:
For those who have not yet been initiated, Famichiki is the name for Japanese convenience store Family Mart’s boneless fried chicken. Hence its name, which is short for Family Mart Fried Chicken.
Known for its soft meat, flavorful seasoning, and handy bag, Famichiki is a beloved staple snack perfect for on-the-go eating, even earning a cult-like following. In fact, last 2023, Family Mart reported that they served over 2 billion Famichikis since it was first launched.
This time, the popular snack takes a new form as slippers or room shoes you can wear at home — or wherever you want!
The Famchiki room shoes’ insole is made with soft suede fabric for extra comfort, while the toebox is covered with fluffy brown stitching mimicking Famichiki’s crispy coating.
The slippers also come in a drawstring bag that looks exactly like the snack’s wrapping paper.
“The crispy coating is expressed by intentionally stitching thick threads in an uneven pattern. The insole is made of suede fabric reminiscent of chicken, and the shoes come with a Tyvek drawstring bag designed to evoke the iconic wrapping paper,” read its description.
These slippers was made possible thanks to the collaboration between Family Mart and Miyoshi Rug.
MIyoshi Rug is a Japanese home decor brand based inTokushima Prefecture. The brand specializes in handmade rugs with patterns hand-punched into each piece using a technique called hooking (tufting), just like painting a picture on a canvas. But it also produces bags, cushions, kitchen items, furniture, room shoes, and more.

Miyoshi Rug is best known for its playful designs, which is perfectly embodied by the Famichiki Room Shoes.
According to Family Mart’s website, the Famichiki slippers are priced at JPY 7,000 (or approximately PHP 2,715).
The Famichiki slippers are available via Family Mart’s website Famima Online. Unfortunately, Famima Online is not accessible outside of Japan, so you may need to check if there are any pasabuy services to get your hands on these cute slippers.
In 2023, Family Mart released a Famichiki merchandise line to celebrate over 2 billion servings of the chicken snack. The limited-edition merchandise line included a blouson jacket, socks, a phone case, and an eco bag, along with other limited-edition snacks and dishes.
