This creature has very good camouflage and invisible abilities. This animal is a medium-sized, silver-haired primate with big, doleful eyes. Author and screenwriter JK Rowling acknowledges that this one is her favorite creature: “They have the ability to become invisible at will, which is a power that has always appealed to me, so I love the Demiguise.”
Newt’s Demiguise has a special friendship with the Occamy, a two-legged, serpentine creature with plumed wings that give it the appearance of a winged dragon and whose eggs are shelled in the purest silver. The Occamy is “choranaptyxic,” meaning it will grow or shrink to fit the available space, which made it one of the more difficult beasts to render on-screen.
Newt has the last breeding pair of Graphorns, lion-like creatures that have grayish-purple hides and multiple long, pointed horns
The most majestic creature in Newt’s suitcase zoo looks like the classic Phoenix except it’s very very large as opposed to the mid-sized ones made popular by the original series. J.K. Rowling declares: “I wanted to have one thing that was quintessentially American, and the Thunderbird is. I feel a special kinship for birds. I loved Dumbledore’s Phoenix, and I wanted a bird in this film with its own mythology. When the Thunderbird flaps its multiple wings, it creates storms, so it’s a powerful, mythic creature.”
