Filipinos value family so much. We are so different from the Western culture where as soon as their child is able, they will fly from their nest and visit only during special occasions. For us Filipinos, we cling to our families as long as we can! There will always be reunions for the whole clan where you rent resorts and stuff yourselves with food and rent a videoke. To us, there’s just no replacing family.
Pinoys are characterized as a people who would do anything in order to achieve their goals and dreams. We hear of stories about people who juggle work and studies, or parents who tried different ways to earn just to send their children to school. These stories represent the hardworking attitude of Filipinos. The number of OFWs alone can attest to that. They brave the loneliness in a foreign land just to make sure that their family is well fed and provided for.
If you find yourself lost on your way somewhere, don’t be afraid to ask a Filipino on the road, they’ll be more than happy to help you! Even if you’re a foreigner, we Filipinos will summon our best English words just to point you to where you need to be.
Filipinos never lose hope on having a brighter future and a better country. Hope sparked the EDSA Revolution because we knew there was something better past everything that’s happening at that time. We hope for a future where we are successful as a country. We don’t only hope, we put to action all of our hopes and dreams! Don’t be surprised if we’ll be one of the most successful countries one day!
