What would Final Fantasy be without summons? Throughout the series, players can summon monsters or gods that can aid them in battle. In Final Fantasy XV, summons have been upped a notch and are now called Archaeans—beasts who protect the world from humans. For you to get these monsters, you have to face them in battle first so that Noctis can forge a pact with them. Summons that have been confirmed so far are Ramuh, a lightning God, Leviathan, Goddess of the seas, and the Archaean Titan.
As if a full game wasn’t enough, a CGI movie titled Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV was also announced. Kingsglaive tells the story of King Regis’ elite guard, which will eventually set the stage for the main game. What made the reveal big was that actress Lena Headey and Sean Bean of Game of Thrones fame will be voicing Lunafreya and King Regis respectively, and Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad will play the main character Nyx.

Final Fantasy XV will also be getting a prequel in the form of an animated film titled Brotherhood, taking on the origin story of Noctis and his friends. We are getting two prequels that will lay the foundation for Final Fantasy XV, and both are free to download (Kingsglaive comes out before September, and Brotherhood’s first episode is already available on YouTube).

Square Enix is known for producing Final Fantasy games at the highest level of quality. Detailed to the last pixel, Final Fantasy XV boasts not only fresh gameplay but also graphics that are out of this world. Blending past Final Fantasy standards such as Chocobos with a real life Audi is a sight to behold.
Suffice to say, wake us up when September ends.
