LIST: Filipino Athletes Who Struck Gold at the 2025 SEA Games

The 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) kicked off last Tuesday, December 9 at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Thailand. Athletes from 11 Southeast Asian countries have gathered to compete in the biennial event, including those from the Philippines. Here is a list of Filipino athletes who bagged gold medals at the SEA Games 2025.
As of December 15, 4:30 pm, the Philippines has secured 19 golds, 33 silvers, and 72 bronzes, for a total of 127 medals.
Macario bagged the season’s first-ever gold medal for the Men’s poomsae freestyle individual event on 10 December 2025.
This is his first SEA Games gold, after he bagged silver in 2021 and bronze in 2023.

After clocking in 3:44.26, more than two seconds away from the silver medalist, the four swimmers secured a gold for the Women’s 4x100m Relay on 10 December.

Finnegan hit 13.400 in the Women’s Vault, finishing at the top podium. She named this latest gold medal as the “most special one.”
“All I wanted to do was hit a clean vault and then we hit the clean vault and it took us forever to get the results. I was kind of chasing around the arena trying to figure out what our final score was because we weren’t really sure,” she said to Filipino reporters. “I think today is the most special one. There’s just been so much change that has happened, especially me being in the Philippines from August up until now.”
Roxas bagged a gold during the Jiu-Jitsu Men’s Ne-Waza 85 kg on 11 December.
“Grateful to have performed at this level despite the challenges I encountered this year in both my personal and professional life,” he said on an Instagram post.

Custodio doubled the jiu-jitsu golds after winning the Jiu-Jitsu Women’s Ne-Waza 48 kg on the same day. “Sobrang saya ko, grabe ang support ng mga Filipino dito,” she said.

The female martial artist secured a gold medal for the MMA Modern Female 60 kg on the 11th.

At a young age of 18, Mangin secured her first-ever gold medal in the Women’s -49kg Kyorugi. She is also the first Filipina to win a gold medal in last year’s World Junior Taekwondo Championships.

Sanchez secured three gold medals for the Philippines in the following events: Women’s 100m Freestyle, Women’s 100m Backstroke, and as part of the team in the Women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay. She also bagged four silvers in the following events: Women’s 200m Freestyle, Women’s 50m Backstroke, Women’s 50m Freestyle, and as part of the team in the Women’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay.
As of writing, Sanchez has secured the most medals among the Philippine delegation.
