Ah, the ever powerful makeup. It can make you look younger, thinner and even flawless. Putting makeup on is fun and all, but wouldn’t you rather have the freedom to not wear any while still looking fresh and blemish-free? And how about the guys who aren’t comfortable with wearing makeup–even products that are specifically for men?
Indeed, having beautiful clear skin is a feat that makes such a huge impact on how you feel and how you’re perceived. If you’re not part of those who are naturally blessed, no worries; you’re just gonna have to work for it. All it takes is a bit of discipline and consistency.
Here are 8 habits you need to start (and stick with) to make 2016 the year you have beautiful clear skin all year round.
Whether you’re puking-level drunk, shit-faced sleepy or crawling-mobility tired, it’s an absolute must that you wash your face before dozing off. Do it even if you need your dog’s help to get this crucial deed done.
You need to get rid of the makeup, dirt and all other free radicals that your face was exposed to from the day. If you don’t, gunk will irritate your skin as you sleep and you’ll most likely wake up with new pimples the next day.
Make water the ultimate BFF that’s by your side day in and day out. You need to drink at least 8 (large) glasses of water to keep your skin hydrated and to flush out toxins out of your system. Be lazy to drink water and not only will your skin be lifeless and dry, but the unflushed toxins will definitely cause breakouts.
Regular sweat sessions are also great ways to keep zits at bay. You’ll be able to release stress, get your endorphins flowing and sweat the toxins out. Of course, you’ll also have a hot body to accompany your gorgeous clear face if you really put the werqqq (push!) in your workouts.
Number six will only work if you exercise makeup-free. Looking cute at the gym is not worth being filled with pimples everywhere else. If you work out with makeup on, there’s a big chance that your makeup will clog your pores and cause a nasty breakout. Your pores are open when you sweat, so make sure that nothing gross is blocking them.
