Christmas Has Arrived: Here’s Our Favorite Picks Among Holiday Displays In and Around the Metro

Nov 25, 2024   •   Meryl Medel

Filipinos love the Christmas season. In fact, the Philippines has one of, if not the longest Christmas seasons in the world, starting as early as September, and we are definitely a country that truly knows how to celebrate Christmas. That’s why nearly every corner of the metro and the surrounding areas are all decked out with dazzling light displays, Christmas tree installations, and a whole lot of festive decor. So if you’re one of many Filipinos who want to see these gorgeous displays and take photos with them, bookmark this page filled with places where you can find holiday displays around the metro.

High Street Holiday

Bonifacio Global City brings to their streets a flying Santa Claus — or at least a sky projection of him! This is Southeast Asia’s first sky projection, and BGC celebrated with lots of fireworks and even some “snowfall.” Aside from a huge Christmas along Bonifacio High Street, you can expect a fireworks display every Satruday of November and December and a chance to meet and greet Santa Claus every Sunday of December.

Mega Holidays

If you like shopping and staying cool indoors, you can head to SM Megamall for their Mega Holiday display. Right in the middle of the Mega Fashion Hall, you can find a three-floor-tall Christmas tree wrapped so prettily for your photos!

Paskong Pinoy

If you’re a southie, another spot you can visit is SM Mall of Asia’s Paskong Pinoy Christmas Tree. It’s just as big as the one in Megamall, this time surrounded by festive Pinoy-inspired decor and even a Santa Claus dressed in a barong! You can find it right in the main atrium of Mall of Asia.

Night of LIghts

Another display you can find in SM Mall of Asia is the Night of Lights, where imagination meets illumination through huge installations. This is a daily event starting November 26, 2024 until January 12, 2025 at the MOA SKY. To get an event pass for 2 pax, you need a minimum single receipt of PHP 3,500 from any establishment at SM Mall of Asia and MOA Square dated November 19, 2024 to January 12, 2025.

Dazzling White Christmas

If you like minimalist designs, you should head to S’Maison, where you can find a two-level-tall dazzling white Christmas tree. It’s perfect for those who like clean and elegant aesthetics for their photos!

Fountain of Lights Festival

If you want to see a truly unique display, you can head further down south to Nuvali, Santa Rosa, Laguna, where you can find their Fountain of Lights Festival. A symphony of lights and movement over water tell the story of the life and rebirth of mystical dragons representing the elements of earth, water, wind, and fire. It runs every Friday to Sunday, 6 to 10 PM, until January 5, 2025.

@8list.ph You know it’s the holiday season when it’s time to see the #NuvaliFountainofLights again. Schedule that drive to Sta. Rosa, Laguna as the iconic light show returns on November 14, 2024. #NuvaliPH #AyalaLandEstates #8listph #fyp #lightshow ♬ original sound – 8List.ph

Coca-Cola Christmas Drone Show

If you’re looking for something to do on November 30, you should head to Nuvali East Block for Coca-Cola’s Christmas Drone Show, their biggest drone show ever, where you can treat yourself to an exciting night of lights and magic. The event starts at 4 PM, with the main show happening at 6 pm.

Christmas Okurimono

On top of their Christmas tree indoors, Japanese mall Mitsukoshi in BGC brings a new tradition to the Philippines through a stylish Kokeshi doll display. The doll named Mitsuko is found right outside the mall, and if you take a photo with her and use the hashtags #MitsukoshiBGC and #Mitsuko, you can get a special gift from the mall.

Wall of Victors

Instead of the traditional Christmas tree, Bridgetowne Destination Estate lights up their humongous Victor statue in Christmas colors for the holiday season. On top of this, they also put up a so-called Wall of Victors, where people can write what they wish for and what they’re thankful for in celebration of this season of giving.

Festival of Lights

All around Makati, you can expect to see radiant parols inspired by Kapampangan patterns. In Ayala Triangle Garden, you can also catch sparkles of light daily and festive melodies every weekend until the first week of January.

Dazzling Window Display

A tradition that dates back as early as the 1980s, the Christmas window display of Rustan’s Makati is always a sight to see. The whole row of windows filled with twinkling lights and holiday decor is a great photo spot to visit after shopping in the malls.
