8 Hollywood Couples We Thought Were Meant To Be

One of the first famous couples we rooted for, and also one of the first that broke our collective hearts. They seemed to have conquered all the hurdles most Tinseltown marriages bump into, but their unsuccessful relationship just proves how difficult it really is to make romance work under the Hollywood limelight. They were married for a decade and had three kids, and they have since amicably separated.
The Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens pairing, a.k.a ZaNessa, was one of the pillars of our childhood, and their pair-up in the hit movie series High School Musical set the standard for our #relationshipgoals. Their chemistry on the three films says it all, and we can’t think of any reason why they can’t be together. Their relationship lasted for five long years, so just imagine how devastating it was when we learned about their split?
According to them, there was no third party involved in the breakup, but Hudgens recently revealed that being with him brought out the worst in her, as there are a lot of girls who crave his attention that she gets so jealous. Can’t blame her, can you?
Six years after the split, fans still hope they’ll get back together in the future. Will there be any chance?
Hollywood’s heartthrob Johnny Depp had a lot of high-profile relationships, but we can’t deny that our favorite was him with Winona Ryder. Their relationship of four years in the early 1990s was very highly publicized. Unlike the others, it was, what seems to be, his realest relationship.
Depp was Ryder’s first real boyfriend. She claims was a virgin before dating him, and that he was her “first of everything.” If that’s TMI, well that’s Hollywood for you. When they broke off their engagement, Ryder became depressed and was even diagnosed with anticipatory nostalgia. It was the same with Depp, as he was found crying on set several times during the filming of his 1993 Tim Burton film, Ed Wood. See that “Wino Forever” tattoo on Johnny Depp’s right arm? It was originally “Winona Forever”.
Their relationship may not have lasted long, but theirs is one of the most epic Hollywood romances that we still love to reminisce about.
It was all sunshine and roses for one of Hollywood’s highest profile marriages. Well, at least that’s what we thought, until the most common of Hollywood marriage clichés—filing for divorce citing irreconcilable differences—caught up with our collective fantasies. Apparently, Jolie hired a private investigator to check if Pitt was really cheating on her with his Allied co-star Marion Cotillard. It reminded us of how the BrAngelina started 11 years ago, and Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston, then.
It was just two years ago when they were married in a private ceremony in France, and now it’s just sad that they didn’t work out after more than a decade of romance. There are just no words. So long, #relationshipgoals.
