Let’s face it, not everyone is built for fun in the sun. Some of us break out in hives once the first stifling rays of summer sun break through the muggy Manila afternoons, and the rest of us just really enjoy airconditioning and keeping our clothes on.
That said, everyone’s lust for the summer break can get pretty infectious, and while we’re not about to go catch the same feelings of wanderlust for the beach and getting sand in our butts, we can’t help but feel a little FOMO when scrolling through our feeds. We are only human, after all, and with all these social media-savvy Millennials lurking about, it’s difficult not to want ours to be our “BEST SUMMER EVER” as well.
The good news is, faking an awesome summer vacay isn’t that difficult. Sharing photos is one click away. All you have to do is decide on where you want to take a trip to, and fake it ‘til you make it. Just think of all the money you’ll save!

If you’re faking a vacay to an exotic destination like India or Cambodia, find a restaurant with a temple-like façade. If it’s a New York-style setting you choose, simply head to Makati at night. Dress like a tourist with the usual garb (don’t forget the fanny pack!) and have strangers take photos of you while you pose. Get as cheesy as you want—after all, no one’s supposed to know you, remember?

If you’re raring for an African safari or a dive trip in Maldives, technology is your best bet. Simply pull some HD photos off the internet, flash them on your television (or even your computer screen) and take a selfie! This can even work for Snapchat and quick videos—just don’t forget to download native music for some extra ambiance.

For more creative tourist photos, it might serve you well to whip out the Photoshop. From inserting fish into a pool, changing backgrounds and even giving yourself a tan, the possibilities are endless.
