Filipino taxpayers can now easily get their TIN IDs — now digitized. The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) recently launched the Digital TIN ID, a new and convenient way to get your taxpayer identification card and your Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN) without physically visiting and waiting in long lines at the Revenue District Offices.
According to BIR’s memorandum 120-2023, the Digital TIN ID is the reference for the taxpayer’s TIN. It can be used and accepted as a valid government-issued identification document accepted in various government agencies, local government units, banks, employers, and other institutions.
It does not require a signature. If needed, its authenticity can be validated online by scanning the QR on the ID on the BIR’s Online Registration and Update System (ORUS) website.
If you already have a Digital TIN ID, there’s no need to secure a physical card, as the Digital TIN ID is a permanent identification document.
For those who already have a physical TIN ID card, no need to worry because the physical TIN ID remains valid.
