Talk about influence done right. In a world full of privileged and tone-deaf influencers, this group sets itself apart. Gandang Bardagulan is a fundraising project organized by content creators Allan Soriano, Gigi Esguerra, Paul Maynard, Yani Villarosa, Chloe Lopez, and Hershey Neri. The drive was only open for a few hours and within the time frame, they were able to gather a total of Php 456,791! The total amount was divided equally for 20 beneficiaries, which includes elderly and homeless people along Manila Bay, PUV drivers and street vendors, and doctors in barrios in the Bicol Region.
Angel Locsin is not a beginner when it comes to donation drives and fundraising projects. She has been very hands-on in helping people who are in need; whether it be from calamity or for the marginalized. In fact, in 2019, Forbes Asia recognized her in their Heroes of Philanthropy list. It includes notable people who are “committed to solving some of the most pressing issues facing the Asia-Pacific.”
To help solve the overcrowding in hospitals, Angel Locsin launched #UniTENTweStandPH Campaign. She stated on her IG post that instead of collecting monetary donations, she asked people to give what they already have. She even asked her fellow celebrities to donate their extra taping beds!
Maybe there’s a little hope for us dear! Local indie-folk band Ben&Ben is trying to reach out through what they love most: making music. They are holding an online concert tonight in partnership with Puhon. It is a project that aims to combat COVID-19 through bayanihan. Puhon is a Cebuano meaning “hopefully” and honestly, all we can do now is hope that something good will come eventually. And how do you do that? By helping and donating through this link. So far, the group has collected over P2.3 million!
Bela Padilla is one of the first Pinoy celebrities who started fundraising projects aiming to help Pinoys being affected by the lockdown. She understands that due to the ongoing community quarantine, there are a lot of Filipinos who will not be able to rely on their normal sources of income. This includes your favorite street food vendors, who won’t be able to guarantee a source of income until the quarantine is over. Pagkain Para sa Pinoyis a fundraising project that will provide food to be distributed across 16 different cities around Metro Manila. The project had a goal of raising P1 million but so far, it already reached P1.3 million.
Wife of Parokya Ni Edgar’s frontman Chito Miranda, Neri Miranda, showed her appreciation for frontliners through her love for baking. She owns Neri’s Bakeshop, popular for their baked goods in Tagaytay and gourmet tuyo. On March 15, she donated 800 rolls of Spanish bread and 800 coffee sachets for health workers in Tagaytay Medical Center. She wrote that it’s their way of thanking health workers for their hardworking during this trying time.
Hi everyone! Given the difficult situation we are all facing, I thought of starting the DoNation drive today. This is to help the employees who are not allowed to work because of the community lockdown.

Maine Mendoza, who rose to fame for her Dubsmash videos, has launched DoNation Drive for families being affected by the lockdown. With the amount collected, Maine sends financial support to different families who send her emails. In her blog, she wrote that she’s focusing on professions greatly affected by the crisis like tricycle and jeepney drivers, street vendors, and construction workers.
It is true that the pandemic is changing the world – you can watch concerts online now! Bayanihan Musikahan is an online marathon singing that gives a new kind of rave (at home)! It is spearheaded by National Artist for Music Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, where he gathered different Pinoy musical artists to perform online while raising donations. The project aims to help the urban poor communities in different cities of Metro Manila, through Likhaan, Caritas Manila, and Nagkakaisang Pamilyang Pantawid. Don’t miss out on this week’s lineup! Also, here’s how you can donate.
Mimiyuuuh has taken the internet by storm since her Dalagang Filipina cover went viral. And her momentum as an influencer doesn’t seem to slow down. Given the number of views and engagement she gets, she’s using this influence to raise funds for donation! Mimi is holding a zumba session via IG live where every view counts as P2 pesos! Working out while helping in donations? Tune in tomorrow!
