Pinoys love Korean dramas. They’re funny, heartbreaking, entertaining, and kilig all at once. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that nearly every scene is so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes that we want to see them in our everyday lives, too. Especially those home interiors! A K-drama leading lady’s bedroom is often chic, minimalist, and just absolutely cozy that we’d be happy to spend nearly all our time there. So why not give your room a K-drama-style makeover so you could actually do that? Check out these tips and some finds which you could use when sprucing up your room and turning it into a K-drama-worthy bedroom.
The overall theme of a K-drama bedroom is cozy and minimalist, which means you’ve got to stick to plain and neutral colors for your walls, too. Or if you can’t do a paint job at the moment, cover it up with these pretty brick-style wall decals. They add a little more charm to the whole aesthetic.
If you think your room is too small for you and your things, a way to make it look more spacious is to set up furniture that stands at a low height, which means things like low tables and maybe even futons. It opens up a lot of vertical space, but still creates that cozy feeling
When choosing the essentials for your room like the bed, desk, and chair, you need to stick to a lighter color palette, maybe even some light wood or white-colored furniture. This will complement your walls and achieve a cohesive room aesthetic.
If you’ve got big windows, make sure you open them! Bring in the sunlight from the outside and let it wash over the room. It’ll make your room even more IG-worthy, especially during golden hour.
Of course, you can’t just stick to one light source the whole time. Aside from the main light source for the whole room, get a pretty lamp that you could put on your bedside table or on your desk.
These are your beddings, curtains, blankets, and the like. Your curtains should be soft and flowy. Maybe even have a layer of day curtains, so you could let that natural light in during the morning and keep the privacy at night. You could choose some color for your bedding (this is the part where you could experiment for a bit!), but make sure you’ve got a fluffy comforter that adds instant brownie points to your cozy bedroom feels. Remember all those messed up beds in the K-drama while the protagonist is preparing for her day? That’s achieved with a cozy comforter.
It doesn’t even have to be stuck up to your wall. You can just have it leaning to the side, so you can check if your OOTD is on point right before you go out or if you’re presentable enough before you sit down in front of your computer.
Put up a shelf in a corner of your room to store all your photos, plants, or random knick-knacks. If you have no space for a shelf, you can turn the wall by your desk into a mini-museum featuring your favorite snapshots and artworks.
