People with birthdays on Leap Day get asked a lot of weird questions. They also kind of get this weird sympathy from people for only getting to celebrate their birthday on the actual day every four years. Take advantage of this and pretend it’s your birthday at a bunch of chain restaurants. Watch the look on the manager’s face go all puppy-dog when you tell him it’s your birthday, then go get that free cake.
Write letters to yourself and place them in a time capsule until the next Leap Year. This year might have been especially hard for you or it could have been the best year ever. No matter what the situation, try to write a letter to your future self about your current status. When you look back on it four years later, some problems from the past will just seem so petty and you’ll appreciate the perspective and notes from your past self.

You don’t need a special day to kick a bad habit, but it sure is a good way to measure how long you’ve been “clean” from said habit. If you have a vice, quit it on leap day so that every February 29th will serve as a reminder of your strong will and ability to rise above your demons.

Astrologers believe that people born on February 29 have unusual talents, so whether you can tuck your foot behind your head, wiggle your ears or burp the alphabet, it might be the best time to discover your hidden talent.
