Life is full of surprises, and they often arise in the most unexpected situations. Take it from this Pinoy Redditor, whose simple snack break turned into a moment they’ll probably never forget. Take a look:
While having some me-time at Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati, one Pinoy Redditor shared a funny yet unexpected encounter of being misidentified as homeless by passersby.
Tapos ‘yung weird obsession ko with tomato ketchup, so pair sila. Nakabalot ‘to sa tissue lahat kasi airtight naman ‘yung tupperware ko,” the OP said.
The Reddit user said they sat underneath a tree for shade, snacking on onigiri and sucking on a ketchup packet. To their surprise, they suddenly noticed some people leaving food beside them.
The Pinoy Redditor emphasized that they still looked presentable despite only wearing a shirt, shorts, and slippers. “Natawa nalang ako kasi sobrang unexpected,” they said.
These days, eating in public alone is often equated to loneliness. Some people have even gone viral for taking photos of strangers eating alone and adding an “inspiring” story to it. So it’s understandable why many found OP’s experience tickled netizens.
Some called this a newfound life hack when petsa de peligro is lurking over your shoulder!
Another Pinoy Redditor shared a similar story in South Korea somewhere during winter while sitting on an underground walkway leading to the train station.
Others saw this as a cautionary tale against sucking on ketchup packets in public.
While some took it as a sign that there’s still some good in the world.
In a follow-up statement, the OP revealed they actually felt embarrassed about what happened and didn’t expect their story to blow up. They also clarified that most of the food they were given was fast food leftovers.
Sorry ‘di ko na kayo ma-replyan lahat, but thanks for letting me know that I made you laugh!”
