Malasimbo never fails to attract the best crowds. Never has there been any trouble during the event because everyone shares the same wonderful vibe. In Malasimbo, everyone is nice to each other. There are no seating arrangements so expect to lay a mat next to a stranger–who will most likely end up becoming a friend. As the night intensifies, expect the Malasimbo crowd to dance together in bliss.
As night draws near, the lights of the festival start to glow. Malasimbo has always had great production design and has never failed to impress its attendees. The installations are glowing against the night sky give it a truly astounding effect. The amphitheater changes vibe as the sun goes down, from a nice grassy natural terrace to a glowing jungle of music and art. You have to experience the event for yourself in order to understand the brilliance of the design at the Malasimbo Music Festival.
Some of the best jazz and soul acts from the Philippines are gracing the Malasimbo stage together with their foreign counterparts. Dance to the groovy earth and soul sounds of June Marieezy, rock out to bluesy funk of Sinosikat, and get to witness one of the best jazz ensembles that the Philippines has produced in the form of the Brat Pack. It promises to be a great festival packed full of local and foreign talent together on one awesome stage.
The best part of Malasimbo Music Festival is that it’s an adventure in itself. When you land on Puerto Galera beach, you will most probably make your way to nearby lodgings and chill at the bars and restaurants facing the white sand beaches. When the festival is about to commence, you’ll need to get on a jeep (they charge P100 back and forth) that will take you up to Mount Malasimbo and back down to the beach after the festival. Imagine three days of sun, sand, art and music. Going to Malasimbo will make you realize that it is indeed the Philippines best music festival and is an experience you definitely do not want to miss.
