Whether you’re a history buff or someone who’s looking for an outdoor weekend activity, here’s an interesting tour you can join. Nilad Community is now offering memorial walks around Manila, just in time for the Battle of Manila’s 81st anniversary. Here’s everything you need to know about it:

The Battle of Manila – Memorial Walks is an annual event organized by the Nilad Community that leads participants on guided walking tours of various districts across Manila. This annual commitment aims to deepen the public’s awareness of Manila’s history, advocate heritage preservation, and inspire newer generations to engage with Manila’s past.
This year’s tours take participants through four districts: Binondo, Malate, Intramuros, and Ermita.

To enhance the tours, each participant will receive a Battle of Manila Commemoration Stamp Book featuring illustrations of notable sites destroyed during the Second World War.
The back of the stamp book is left blank to be filled with newer stamps collected throughout the different walk schedules.

As of writing, the next tours are scheduled on the following dates:
Each walking tour costs PHP 1,000 per person and includes a commemorative stamp book. You can sign up for the event online.
