Mimiyuuuh is one of the most beloved personalities on the web. The 26-year-old YouTuber has never been afraid to share her life with the world, whether it’s flexing her ukay skills, making us laugh with her hilarious antics, or opening up about what she’s learning. We’re so used to seeing her genuine, bubbly personality. But yesterday, Mimiyuuuh showed a different side of her that is vulnerable and honest. Here’s what happened.
In a 15-minute YouTube video, Mimiyuuuh talked about her first-ever heartbreak experience. “Your girl just got dumped!” she jokes at the start of her vlog.
But the social media star said the video wasn’t meant to speak ill against the person involved. Mimiyuuuh explained she only wants to share her experience with her followers so they could hopefully learn something from it.
“Gusto ko po i-share sa inyo ‘yung mga pinagdaanan ko po, and sana po ay may matutunan kayo sa aking heartbreak season.”
Mimiyuuuh revealed she met her now ex-boyfriend on a dating app. The YouTuber explained she was inspired by her best friend, who met their partner online and is now happily married.
“Nag-match po kami nitong guy na ito. Sabi niya po kasi, nagsisimba siya nung time na nag-match kami. So, akala ko naman, baka ako na ‘yung hinihintay nitong blessing. Opo. ‘Yun pala, ‘di pa pala.”
She added they went on a date a couple of times and later found out that the guy was heading overseas to study. Despite this circumstance, Mimiyuuuh and her then-boyfriend decided to make their long-distance relationship setup work.
“Hindi mo ‘rin malalaman kung magw-work out unless you try it so talagang binigyan namin ng chance,” she said.
It seemed that things weren’t all that bad, but then the social media star received a message from her ex-boyfriend while she was in Indonesia for a gig. “Ang feeling ko po, hinintay niya lang po akong mag-online para kahit papano po eh mabasa ko ‘yung message,” she shares.
Her ex-boyfriend decided to end their relationship and told her that he was only waiting for the “right timing.” Mimiyuuuh admits she didn’t know what to feel at that moment because she was shocked, and they were okay before the breakup.
“I really felt alone po because all this time, I thought I found my home — eh hindi pa po pala.”
Even though her relationship didn’t have a happily-ever-after ending, Mimiyuuuh’s vlog is filled with hope and encouragement. She believes there are moments in our lives when it doesn’t go how you want it to be. Should you let bad experiences break you? Mimiyuuuh says no.
“And ‘yung mga ganitong experiences, these are the things that will make us wiser and stronger.”
But that’s not just our takeaways from her heartbreak tell-all. Here are more words of wisdom from Mimiyuuuh that you can take to heart:
Nobody’s perfect in any relationship. Mimiyuuuh reveals she has a “toxic” and “pabebe attitude.” But she also learned that it wasn’t right and changed them.
“Kapag gusto mo nang something, sabihin mo. Kasi hindi naman po ang mga jowa natin — hindi po ‘yan mga mind reader.”
In short, communication is important.
There are people who will make you feel you’re hard to love, but the truth is they just don’t know how to love you right, says Mimiyuuuh. If you still haven’t found “the one,” the YouTuber wants you to remember this:
“Hindi po ipaparamdam ng tamang tao na ang hirap-hirap mong mahalin. Kasi sa totoo lang po, loving is really easy if you are with the right person.”
Who’s cutting onions? Anyone?
And finally, Mimiyuuuh shared this experience taught her that whatever happens, you only have yourself. “Babalik at babalik lang po tayo sa sarili natin, Totoo po talaga — as in totoo po talaga ang self-love. Before you get into a relationship, make sure na you really love yourself.”
The YouTube star also said that if you really love yourself, you know what you deserve. Don’t ever disregard the red flags you see!
“Deserve natin ma-feel special every day. Self-love is a must, guys!”
Break-ups are never easy. But just because you’re hurting now doesn’t mean you won’t be smiling again. Life gets better, folks! Sometimes, in ways or situations, we don’t even think possible.
We love you, Mimiyuuuh!
